It's 5C (feels like 4C) here as a thick fog rolls in with still 90mins to go until sunrise happens.

Cheers.

Today has been a game of cloudy clouds, briefly blue sky, before a hefty blast of rain... Not quite thunderous but not far off...

The weather for this lunar eclipse reminded me of the 1999 solar eclipse where our indefatigable and endlessly exuberant Sir Patrick Moore hired a C130 to get a view from up above the clouds over the English Channel...

All good fun!!

I am beat. Long day at the convention. Made a lot of good connections and am pretty sure I will get work out of them. DOE has a contest for Universities, High Schools, and Gramer schools to build a wind turbine with an advanced design to improve energy generation. The university teams all had some really well-built designs. The grammar school kids were just cute.

Sounds like you enjoyed it Carlos.

Anyhow I just finished stacking the trailer load of firewood that I split and it created a wall 3.5m long by 1.7m high so that should do me for a while and with some luck we'll get our 1st frost for the year tomorrow morning (unless it again gets cancelled due to a lack of interest).

It's now LLB time and it may be an extended 1 today as a close mate of mine passed away yesterday.

Cheers.

Enjoy it Mike while I may get my 1st taste of winter here in the morning.

Thankfully all is ready to light a small fire in Robbie's belly that should last for 2-3hrs before the shed's solar heating system takes over. My fire place is made out of steam pipe, a plough disc and 2x 20" heavy steel truck wheels, with a bit of steel plate & a horseshoe thrown in basically so that's what the locals call it in short for "Robbie the Robot" who they named it after. ;-)

And then I can split my kindling in front of it well before 10am tomorrow (that's when the shed's solar heating got its 1st taste of sunshine today).

The mercury here reached 18C (felt like 15C), but it's dropping fast now with about 10mins to go until sunset it's down to 14C (feels like 11C) and I've already got my column heater plugged in and turned on (though it's still has a few degrees to go yet before the thermostat kicks in).

Meanwhile the solar heating heating had the shed downstairs up to 26C (with a couple of windows and a door open to keep that down) for several of us to get together for a pre-wake wake for a real scallywag.

Cheers.

To bad you don’t get gigged for double words. I hope you don’t feel to bad for your friends passing.

What 2 words were those Admiral?

As for my buddy, he will be missed, but he was 84 and the last couple of years were not the best for him so he's better off now sitting at that big bar in the sky.

Cheers.

From scorching Summertime morning sun, to cold breeze, to vertical downpour rain in a darkly grey evening.

What next in the swirling Eddie for the morrow...?

Early morning sunshine here made quick work of the lite frost, but now we have high drifting clouds interrupting that, while the temp is up to 13C (feels like 11C) and the shed's solar heating has downstairs up to 18C without the need of any firewood being burnt as yet. 17C is expected here today.

I'm going to be a plumber later this morning swapping out a faulty dunny cistern which should be a quick job, but the old house does like to throw up hurdles at times.

But 1st I'm going to enjoy a coffee break.

Cheers.

1 of these days they might just standardise toilet cisterns so that they're a quick replace job instead of always needing new support holes for the supporting screws and everything else in between the bowl and the stopcock.

Anyhow that's a new 3/6L dual flush cistern in place now and makes that the 3rd that the house has had there since 1964.

Now it's time for LLB and then I'll see what happens for the rest of the day here as the mercury reaches 17C (feels like 15C).

Cheers.

Heading back to California.
San Antonio has a great downtown. Riverwalk, tons of food, theater, and old buildings. Enjoyed my stay. Well except for the heat. Glad I had a cold hotel room.
