But have you looked at the "Total Cost of Ownership".

Fuel costs lower, can be very small if you have solar panels.

Electric motors have fewer moving parts than ICE and therefore cheaper maintenance and servicing costs.

And if you drive in a big city where they are taxing road use heavily for carbon fueled vehicles and nil payment for electric then there is another saving.

And in the UK the cost or insurance for electric cars has come down in recent years and it is now cheaper for the electric cars in comparison to similar petrol (gas) cars.

Now, now, go easy there, that could be far too much for some to comprehend. ;-)

Attacking is when I get talking about 'torque', 'acceleration' and 'energy recovery', and other physics facts.

After massive bus fire, CT pulls electric fleet from service
One day after officials touted the passage of the Connecticut Clean Air Act, including plans for thousands of electric vehicles to hit the road, one of the state-run electric buses caught on fire over the weekend.

The blaze engulfed a CTtransit bus in a Hamden parking lot Saturday morning, sending two workers and a firefighter to the hospital, officials said.

“Lithium ion battery fires are difficult to extinguish due to the thermal chemical process that produces great heat and continually reignites,” Hamden fire officials said.

The Northern Territory joins Western Australia as a lithium miner.

Core Lithium opens the Northern Territory's first lithium mine amid surging demand for electric vehicles.

Between PooTin and the Arabs playing around with the prices of fuel and gas and Xi putting on huge restricted access to many rare earths is only accelerating the need not to depend on any of them for anything.

Chinese firm tests electric flying taxi in Dubai
IT'S A ELECTRIC FLYING FAN THINGY...
The sleekly designed vehicle can carry two passengers and is powered by a set of eight propellers. The company says it has a top speed of 130 kilometers (80 miles) per hour.

Unlike airplanes and helicopters, eVTOL, or “electric vertical takeoff and landing,” vehicles offer quick point-to-point personal travel, at least in principle.

We have them already...

They are called e-scooters and e-bikes.

... And they can easily break the highways speed limit...
