I was born in the back of a borrowed Morris Minor ("Woody") Traveller in the hospital's car park and because I wasn't born inside the actual hospital itself they just checked mum and me over and then sent us back home. LOL

Cheers.

I was born in the same room I studied the flute in.
It was a hospital when I was born but in the intervening years, my college had bought the building. It became the music department.

Giant redwoods - just how many??

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68518623

A tree that was once "confined" to North America now appears to be just at home, if not more at home in the UK.

The story doesn't talk about coastal redwoods. There are two species of redwoods in California, Giant Sequoia and Coastal. The giant sequoia live in the Sequoia mountains and are older and more massive. They live about 3,500 years. Those are threatened by climate change. The coastal grow along the coast and grow taller, not as massive. The tallest redwood is a coastal redwood named Hyperion. It's 380 feet tall. It's now illegal to visit, but I got to see it years ago. Coastal redwood only live for about 2,000 years. They are also used for landscaping more often. I have 2 in my yard. Coastal redwoods way outnumber Sequoia.

One of the problems with tail dragger aircraft is the poor directly ahead visibility when on the ground.

I still have all my LP's (~300) & 45's (~150) even though I spent many hours to recorded them to digital FLAC format. Worth their weight in gold some might say.

I saw a few months back a shop selling new and used LP's opened here in Fort Worth TX catering to the "audiophile."

Number of independent record shops in UK hits 10-year high
The digital entertainment and retail association (ERA) said there are now 461 indie record shops in the UK - 122 more than 10 years ago.

...But it also found the demand for vinyl records increased for the 16th year in a row, with 6.5 million sold, taking overall sales above £170m.

It said 2.2 million of those records were sold through independent stores, and £110m of the overall sales were generated by older albums rather than new releases.

I have a friend who would spend every spare dollar he earned on buying LPs. His collection covered the walls of his living room, bedroom, and study. Seems like he was a smart investor after all.

Walmart sells new LP records. Even portable record players.

The good thing with LPs (along with CDs & DVDs) is that they are yours.
With streaming, at any time they can be pulled for any reason. And with things like Amazon's Kindle store and Steam and other types of digital stores, even though you might have paid for something, it is not legally yours. It can be deleted at any time, with no refund owing (you did agree to the ToS when you signed up).

Sony and it’s holdings. It is like piracy on their part. Unless you own a physical copy in your hands. It is considered to be vaporware to them.

After timing out it took another 40+ seconds for the main page to finally come up.
And things have been going so well.
