Suzanne Somers, best known for her roles on Three's Company and Step by Step, died on Oct. 15, 2023. She would have been 77 on Oct. 16.

“Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,” Somers’ longtime publicist R. Couri Hay wrote in a statement shared on behalf of the actress’ family.

Well, this one's different from the usual story- Polish police arrest man who pretended to be a mannequin before stealing jewellery

Between climate warming and wet periods mozzie born diseases are sadly only going to increase.

Ticks and the diseases that they transfer will also increase.

Cheers.

Seen that happen before.
On an armoured vehicle that was just entering the assembly stage it was found that the Buying department had decided to order metric shock absorbent mounts, without informing the design department. So the vehicle chassis and turret were drilled and tapped in a 2 inch square for ¼ inch bolts and the mounts were at 50 mm with holes just big enough for 6 mm bolts

The Metric System and NASA's Mars Climate Orbiter

The Mars Climate Orbiter, built at a cost of $125 million, was a 638-kilogram robotic space probe launched by NASA on December 11, 1998 to study the Martian climate, Martian atmosphere, and surface changes. In addition, its function was to act as the communications relay in the Mars Surveyor ’98 program for the Mars Polar Lander. The navigation team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) used the metric system of millimeters and meters in its calculations, while Lockheed Martin Astronautics in Denver, Colorado, which designed and built the spacecraft, provided crucial acceleration data in the English system of inches, feet, and pounds. JPL engineers did not take into consideration that the units had been converted, i.e., the acceleration readings measured in English units of pound-seconds^2 for a metric measure of force called newton-seconds^2. In a sense, the spacecraft was lost in translation.

Well that new Apple device is a modern twist of an over a century old job (I can bet that it doesn't weigh anything near the original did).

Would it be a Kleva product by any chance?

Cheers.
