I would have hoped that the human race would have evolved a better form of global dispute resolution by now.

I hear a very boring broken record with nothing of substance to say, maybe a vax could fix that.

Didn't we use to have someone that sounded the exact same way?

Being a very boring broken record I mean.

Several IIRC. There might even be a thread in the Cafe that sprung from one.

For the record : The "cheapest" stations here in Middle Tennessee have gone this past week from $2.89 to $3.29 as a group it seems--so far no shortages though ala Jimmy Carter. Now looking at $50 fill-ups in my midsize sedan. I am a luddite who worked at gas stations during high school ; regular was 24.9 and premium was 26.9. I laughed at a guy who brought his big Buick in and filled up for $6.00. Drove to Florida with my mother in early 50's and a gas war had it for 19.9. In Iran gas was 12 cents per liter (8 rials) back in 1978. Now it is 15,000 rials --still about 12 cents . I remember gas at about 33 cents as late as the mid 70's when I drove to Chicago 2 times per week or so from Champaign Illinois (150 miles); my sweet little Datsun 510 wreck of a car could make those trips for about 1 cent per mile for gas and oil.

Those of us with minds in the past are appalled at the price of cars, gas, food and so on. My house goes up $10,000 in value each month. I am gleeful where I should be quite scared of a worthless dollar.
