The first Morecambe and Wise Show to air on BBC One - feared lost for ever - has been unearthed after 50 years.
The Mirror reports that Eric Morecambe's son, Gary, found a film of the episode in the attic.
Despite getting 14 million viewers, the half-hour show - broadcast in October 1970 - has never been repeated. ITV will show the footage as part of its Lost Tapes series.

Several papers report on the appointment of a "naughty school boy" to one of the most senior positions in education.
Owen Evans is Wales' new chief inspector for schools.
The Daily Mirror explains that he may seem an unlikely candidate, having been expelled from school as a 16-year-old for giving his teachers cornflake cakes laced with laxatives.
Most of the teachers were so badly affected they were unable to attend lessons the next day.
Mr Evans recalls that it was the "look of disappointment" in his mother's eyes that made him turn his life around.

Perhaps they want to use Roman, or (ancient) Chinese, or (ancient) Japanese, or one of the other character sets representing digits....
(not forgetting that some of those sets do not contain a zero character, cope with fractions etc.)
I hope such people realise what "fun" they would impose on themselves as they moved back in time and have to re-invent their system of arithmetic and mathematics. All the while most of the rest of the world looks on bemused.

Algebra itself is an Arabic term (al-jabr). As is algorithm, alcohol, alembic, alkali(ne), anil(ine), azimuth... and that's just the a's.
