My 2500K just hit the jackpot. :-O

264 tasks just turned up. :-D

Cheers.

Hi Wiggo,

Really?!?!

I know someone is gonna tell me "no you got xxx number of tasks yesterday", but I really don't care at this point. I haven't seen a task since 4/12. I got a couple the day before, and one before that, and a couple before that. Why do I see others get 10s or 100s of tasks while some of us get pittance or nothing? :(

It's a rhetorical question, not needing an answer because someone will tell more "you get them all the time". Which I don't and I have to wonder about the 50 or so that I was told I got on 4/3 when my list shows 2 only on that date.

Oh yeah, not for you Wiggo, but for someone else, I check my task list several times a day contrary to what someone believes. Don't even remember who tells me all that. :)

Have a great day! :)

I've only been getting the odd 1 or 2 here and there until the day before yesterday when that rig picked up 67 CPU tasks (I'm still trying to get rid of some Rosetta work to really get into those) and also to make things even better my 3570K rig also picked up 264 GPU tasks as well.

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.

Cheers.

why does boinc need a manual kick to continue to ask for seti tasks? I would like it to continue asking as much as seti allows (every 30:18) but it gets lazy and stops asking and I have to manually ask when I notice.

The S@H end will possible be like the end of the universe, the last shinning stars will be those who slowly burn their reserves of fuel.
After that the entropy wins and all will end on a eternal cold & darkness.

That, unfortunately, is as accurate a description as I have read.

So....is anyone else leaving it running just to see what you might get from time to time, if anything? I received a WU on the 7th. I wonder how long these sporadic bits of data will continue to be sent out.

Until all tasks will get ultimate status (either validated, or WU error)

FYI only

There is a bug on the client code who make it sometimes "forget" about that 1 hr timer and stop to asking for work when the host is out of work, something common on this last days of S@H.
Besides travel on the code and find why that happening, correct, and compile your own client from the user side, we have very little to do unless use the Keith suggestion who forces the client to update.

AFAIK BOINC still developing. no chance to get bugfix with new update??

I'm still working on bugs, but that one isn't a bug. There never was a 1 hour timer in that sense.

Hi Wiggo,

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.

Yeah, you never know, you just may get lucky there too. :) lol

I have never much luck with the lottery. About 30 years ago I won about $36 bucks. lol ;)

My apologies for ranting in my reply to you, it just struck a nerve. It wasn't a rant at you. :)

Have a great day! :)

I am and I think it is a very good idea. Just got something like 77 gpu tasks dumped on me.

Got lucky... downloaded 121 GPU tasks at 00:04 UTC. All done and reported by 04:47 UTC. Maybe boost my RAC a few notches? Breaks a long dry spell, of Seti tasks, but easily explained by Einstein filling the cache and then Seti backing off "...no tasks downloaded. Cache full." Manually worked around that with Einstein NNT and suspend tasks until cache became "unblocked" for Seti downloads. Not the ideal operating mode, to have to manually intervene in cache management, but worth some effort to contribute a few more work units to the Workunits waiting for validation queue. ...and just 9 more days to the 21-year mark...

Those WUs that were stocked up on before the end and never reported were resent these days I guess. Got 33 today too, 3x more than the total resends gotten so far.

Greetings,

Woohoo! :) Finally! :) Some time last night My main (my only host left connected to SETI) got roughly 250 tasks to chew on. :)

Have a great day! :)

Congratulations! You probably got them at a time when you hadn't pushed the Update button in the previous 30 minutes.

The client backoff doesn't allow work fetch, if you keep hitting that button!

Both of my active machines are now crunching other projects as well, but have received a few SETI tasks on most of the last 7days, I think the best day was 18 tasks, most of which were noise overflows.

I have SETI on 10+10 on my Windows machine, and 7+7 on Android. I just have to be be VERY careful, when I want to fetch new work for Rosetta or Einstein, that I change the work fetch down to 0.5 before turning off NNT for other projects.

Hi Keith,

I don't keep mashing the update button. I only hit it once if I see SETI has tasks RTS. That's it. I don't sit here and keep hitting it in the hopes to get 1 or 2 or 100 tasks. :)

My main is doing Rosetta and set up to get GPU tasks from SETI (resends). I have one of my Pis repurposed as a DNS server, it's called Pi-Hole. Every device in the house goes through it to get to the Internet. Nothing else is running any other projects.

Have a great day! :)
