It just means the task took more than a single cpu core to compute.

See it all the time on Einstein Gravity Wave tasks. They can take up to 115% of a cpu core. Which means they ran on a full core and partial of another core.

Hehe, WCG ARP1 on my slow Laptop, with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 M380 CPU @ 2.53GHz, takes about 2 days to finish.
But then, who's in a hurry? :-)

And since ARP1 only checkpoints every 12.5% of progress, one better not shut down the computer. (hibernate, or sleep works though)

. . I tried crunching on a laptop once but I was afraid I would die before the task finished ... so never again :(

. . Just call me impatient :)

In my case, the laptop died. :-(
Was looking forward to hitting Emerald for ARP later this month then switching all rigs to SCC for Emerald as will hit ruby sometime this week.

. . I am concentrating on MCM and SCC, though not getting much work for SCC.

My HP laptop with AMD E-450 CPU and SuSE Linux Leap 15.0 is running two QuChemPedlA@home tasks. They take about 20 hours each. On a Windows 10 deskstop with Intel i5-9400F CPU I must use VirtualBox to run them and they take less than one hour and a half. Funnily, all my wingmen which I see in validated tasks use Linux without VirtualBox and take a longer time even if they have more processors than my six. I have surpassed Linux hosts with 52 processors running Mint Linux or Debian. Yet the use of VirtualBox employs another software layer and should be slower than native Linux tasks.

Well that's Ruby for SCC. Just waiting for the remaining tasks to complete before switching this rig over to ARP as only 79 days run time remain for Emerald. :-)

I have this in the Boinc Manager notices for today, and it arrived 13/10/2020 16:42:40
It was down before that time. :-)
2nd, nothing in notices.
3rd, couldn't get to forum to check. :-(
Edit: when I did manage to check, last task reported 12::41, nothing since. :-(

Must have been an issue my end then.
See that I now have some ARP with 2 running for the past 31m. :-)
RAC is going to drop drastically due to now running just 4 cores on ARP. Just need another 74.5 days run time for Emerald.
Then have rigs run SCC for emerald (171 days needed).

Shame my laptop died otherwise would have hit Emerald on ARP today. Instead got another 28 days run time to go (should be there in another 7 days or so). Then back to SCC with all cores for Emerald. :-)

With 2 days to go, it'll be close but not quite there. June hit over 5 years run time, Oct will be approx. 65 days or so short of 5 years, so it'll be the 2nd best month so far.
Still, not too bad. :-)
Nov should do much better.

With all my computers running , I'll produce 17 days/day. However too many WU's goes to "Pending Validation", because people have too large caches.
I don't run all threads on my 8 thread computers though, only 6. I need a few of the threads myself :-)
My 4 thread computer runs all threads, so does my really old 1-core XP computer of course.

So, 6+6+4+1 = 17

We'll see how close we get....

. . OK, I will run up the 2 cores on my i5 to help ... :)

I'm in the same boat. Running 2 ARP on my 8 core. Running anything else just hangs it, which is why I'm going for Emerald before switching to more ram friendly tasks. They'll let me run 6 (running all 8 just slows the rig down).

I'll know about 2am tomorrow.
But Oct will be the best month so far for points.
We will pass 10m.
