No I don't have any enhanced client installed. BOINC Manager v. 7.9.3, boinc-app-seti-graphics v. 8.00 SVN 3701-1. Everything was installed from my package manager, except for the AMDGPU-PRO package. It's been ages since I installed SETI@home (my first work unit is from 1999) so I have no idea what changed or why do I need that xml to exist (which exists, btw). Thank you for your input. |

It's been ages since I installed SETI@home (my first work unit is from 1999) so I have no idea what changed or why do I need that xml to exist (which exists, btw).Delete the app_info.xml file, and your system will then download the stock applications and start using them (although it will take a while as you've trashed quite a few WUs and are presently limited to just 1 WU per day). As you process & return work, and it is Validated, the daily limit will increase quickly. App_info.xml is only needed when running Anonymous Platform, and any package you download that makes use of it should state explicitly that is the case, and have a readme file with instructions on editing the app_info.xml file to use the applications your hardware configuration requires. I seem to remember just deleting app_info.xml doesn't cut it as the information is then still inherent in client_state.xml So after removing it, and a BOINC client restart, reset the project. That should get things moving. |

Delete app_info.xml, exit BOINC & then restart BOINC (or exit, delete, restart). That should get it to start using the stock applications (as newly processed work validates and you can get more each 24hrs). If not, then the Reset as Jord suggested should take care of any other blocks to getting new work (other than the present 24hr limit). Grant Darwin NT |

I was about to delete the xml, (I cold booted today, shutdown the computer yesterday) and I opened the manager out of curiosity and the error was gone, however now all my tasks have computational error. I decided to start fresh and reinstalled everything piece by piece. After installing Boinc Manager and nothing else, SETI started running! But just installing boinc-app-seti-graphics, the computational errors started popping up again! So I think the problem is that the package manager has conflicting BOINC programs:
boinc-app-seti and boinc-app-seti-graphics 8.0.0 SVN in which the former is the CLI version and the latter is, supposedly the GUI version. Upon installing this one, there aren't any launchers generated and running boinc on a CLI tries to open the RPC GUI but fails because of a permissions error using port 31416. |
