User : fr, not newbie. System : Linux Debian 9 "Stretch" 64b I just downloaded the BOINC .sh script from website, a few time ago, and installed it. Installation done ok. Once in BOINC/ directory, and ran ./run_manager as required by the installation script, I have this error : ./boincmgr: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_html-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory At the moment, in Debian 9, libwxgtk package is 3.0.2+dfsg-4, and libwx_gtk2u_html is 3.0.so.0 (not 2.8). It is installed. So I have the lib, but versions don't match. I just can't run the manager. I didn't try to run the client, then. |

Uggh. That version of BOINC should not even be listed on the website it is so out of date. I really recommend using the boinc package in your Stretch distro. Gianfranco maintains the package for Debian. https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/boinc Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
