Message 2023846 - Posted: 20 Dec 2019, 8:45:22 UTC - in response to Message 2023812.

Is the science db usually disabled even during Tuesday maintenance. I don't think so, but my memory is not what it used to be, so anyone know?

Could the problem be with paddym and thus causing problems for the system we interface with?

No the science database is not usually taken down.

I wonder if they have been trying to scrub the bad data submitted by AMD 5700/XT hosts.

. . Was it Mr Kevvy who thought that may have been the underlying cause. An attempt to undo the damage from delinquent crunchers.

a trip to the pub??

I 'm doing my sacrifice on the pub now. Latter maybe some hollow will be needed too. No hair to burn here. LOL

Maybe if we pour in some Eggnog it will help?

Beer O'clock is just 35mins away here and I've done my bit for today, so a few beers while doing a bit of reading might just work. ;-)

Cheers.

What we know and don't know. Check the panic thread for updates.

Replica seconds behind master 49,548
This number is only getting larger over time. When you check your stats you are looking at the replica, so you aren't seeing the current status of your machine. Check your machines personally if you want to know if they have data, are connecting properly, or if there is another issue.

Anonymous machines aren't getting new WUs and might also have trouble reporting data. There are various ideas for "fixes" for this until we get word on if this is intentional or accidental

I'm trying to see if any of the status page numbers are current, or are just a glimpse into the past.

Replica seconds behind master 63,327 (17.5 hours)

I think this and the number of connections is db independent, so might be valid. I thought it was closer to 65k a few hours ago, so I wanted to document it. Could it be getting better instead of worse??

Results received in last hour ** 0 1,385 122,873

I also would like to think that this number is db independent, and might be current. For all the problems, WUs are still sporadically going out and being returned. Not to rub it in anyone's face, but my two machines are still chugging along.

Replica is now just over 62,000 secs behind master, so it is catching up, albeit slowly.
At least it's going in the right direction ;-)

Yeah but it was down to about 56k for a while, so it's getting worse again.

Replica seconds behind master 55,675 (15.4 hours)

two steps forward one step back...at least for now...

still improving. It will be nice to see current personal stats and current machine status.

Results received in last hour ** 0 1,396 103,273

I know some of the big crunchers have switched to other projects during this time of issues, but I'm not sure how much of the lower return rate is due to the loss of the big crunchers or due to the increase of AP WUs right now.

I hope this anonymous problem gets fixed quickly so those who want to continue with Seti can.

Seeing as that is usually around the 1.2-1.4 million mark it's down by a great deal I'd say. ;-)

Cheers.

I thought the hourly rate is on the high end at 150k. I'll search for some previous posts to double check. I really doubt we are processing over a million per hour

https://munin.kiska.pw/munin/Munin-Node/Munin-Node/results_setiathomev8_hour.html

There are some spikes in this graph, I'm guessing due to the issues. I know it doesn't have much history, but still not near 1 million/hr.

. . Umm, no mate I am pretty sure the results returned last hour is normally around the 130,000 to 140,000.

140-150k/hour, is the normal. More than that has been considered too high for the servers to be able to cope with. Wiggo has been inhaling too much smoke, or been drinkning :-)

. . It's the smoke from all the Eucalyptus gums burning in the bushfires ...

I'm looking forward to some current stats and not having to actually look at the machines to check that they are still downloading WUs.

I'm still hoping that the Seti team fixes the anonymous problem soon, so I can listen to you all grumble about having to reset your machines back to your special apps or from other projects. :-)
Thank you to all who have taken time to look through the code to assist Eric.
