Except it isn't a Flu, its a Corona. So WuHuRona.Calling Covid - 19 Wuhan flu or Chinese flu is not productive and is Rascist . Swine flu is not called American flu and I'm shore many American mite just get a little upset if it was . I refer to the 1976 outbreak in America . Covid - 19 looks like it may have come from bats so if your going to call it anthing other than Covid - 19 then call it BAT fluMy hybrid coined word for the illness WuHu Flu is both non-racist and geographically specific. Seems I remember a London Flu and a Hong Kong Flu, and even a Croydon epidemic so it would seem the UK has had its share. We have had an Asian flu too. Of course LA had a pneumonic plague outbreak in '24. It is only racist if you attribute the people living in those places as being somehow less than your group and blame that for the cause, something the Rump is all too willing to do. |

... Spit on the ground every time his name is mentioned... Best not to... Best not to risk spreading anything infectious... And in some parts of the 'Wild West' for such a thing as that, with all those wild guns being bought as 'emergency essential items', would there not be a risk being shot on sight? (I'll leave it up to the devotees as to whether whatever reason might be any/all of: random; offense of spreading infection; assumed insult; political; blasphemy; other?!) Stay safe! Question: Why are the death rate's for Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, the UK and Belgium so much higher than Germany?Because all countries report data differently. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/26/health/number-of-cases-testing-data-intl/index.html - The danger lies in trusting the figures and assuming that they give us information about the exact number of people who have been infected. Unfortunately, there is no meter system that makes it possible to compare the situation in different countries, "Michael Tildesley, professor of mathematical epidemiology at Warwick University in the UK, told CNN. Now that the U.S. has 50% more cases than Italy and almost double that of Spain and China many are wondering how far that will go. Why Is the U.S. Behind on Coronavirus Testing? “Testing is the biggest problem that we’re facing,†Peter Slavin, president of Massachusetts General Hospital, said recently in a roundtable on Covid-19 at Harvard Medical School. While South Korea had tested about 4,000 people per million of its population at the time, the United States had just run five tests per million — despite the fact that they both reported their first cases at essentially the same time (on January 21 and 20). The discrepancy was surprising because the genome of the virus had been available since January and scientists had figured out the diagnostics shortly thereafter, using proven molecular methods first discovered in the 1970s.......Once the U.S. does gets its testing up to speed what will be the real numbers then? |

A No 10 spokesperson defended not following international guidelines, saying: "We have world-class experts advising the prime minister. We take their advice and have confidence in their judgements."Does that exclude Dominic Cummings? Britain knows best It had to happen. :-( "little hitlers" strike out |

I don't think Donnie paid so much attention in history class when being a cadet. Hehe:)it has never been done in the history of our country.Chinese exclusion act 1882 signed by President Chester A. Arthur. Then his knowledge of viral pandemics is zero. |

Well The only thing we know for certain when testing more people. The Mortality Rate will lower:) Does that mean anything really? No. For now we don't know anything about any numbers. Except for the death cases but that is also unknown in many countries :(Once the U.S. does gets its testing up to speed what will be the real numbers then? |

Perhaps you missed my point. There are not really any significant difference of mortality rates between the countries in Europe. It's how you calculate it that differ. Nothing else.Well The only thing we know for certain when testing more people. The Mortality Rate will lower:) Does that mean anything really? No. For now we don't know anything about any numbers. If you would count a much larger sample you would most likely find that COVID-19 has about the mortality rate of 1%. Perhaps 4%. Not 20%. |

Special note: I have read that the UK figures are for those admitted to hospital and then tested. Hence the UK mortality figures are for those that do not survive hospitalisation... Edit: '... after being hospitalised that is!' Stay safe! Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

I know these numbers very well. And when looking at them it doesn't make sense. Until you know how countries do their counting. In Germany they test a LOT more, while for instance in Sweden we don't test people at all. Only very old people with symptoms and some medical personal.Perhaps you missed my point. Therefore, Germany's mortality rate is similar to Italy's if you take into account "how you calculate"?I know these numbers very well. And when looking at them it doesn't make sense. Until you know how countries do their counting. In Germany they test a LOT more, while for instance in Sweden we don't test people at all. Only very old people with symptoms and some medical personal. .
Therefore, of the three numbers which are very, very important. Total number infected, total number of deaths and therefore the mortality rate of COVID 19. We really know only one of three :-(
Yes It's very much like the Drake equation that gives you from 1 to many billions of ETs:) |

"I disregard 'Drake's Equation' as mere number playing."As Mark Twain said "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." But his statement is perhaps not his, but funny never the less. |

Exactly what i mean . The Americans are trying to cause a problem i believe so after this is over so they can try and blackmail China . Seeing as most of the people that have got positive test here in my Country we should sue America for not doing enough to stop it spreading in there country . |

Some are asking why is the death rate lower in some country's than others . Some are saying it's because of the testing , MAYBE However there may be another reason . TB vacine In Australia in the 50s-60s-70s-80s People coming into this country had to be given the TB vaccine . You could not refuse , if you did the cops would arrest you and force you to have it. When i came to Australia i had to have the TB vaccine and the small pox vaccine . I have the scares on my left arm and anybody having either vaccine should also have the scares My wife was a nurse and she would often come home with a flu . She was born here and has not had the TB vaccine . While she would get sick for a week i would not get the flu or only have very mild symtoms and be ok after 3 days . I have asthma so should suffer the flu badly but i don't i ask you why is this so ? I trust the Australian Medical people . WE came up with the Hendra vaccine and stopped the Zika virus DO yourself a favor go see your Doc and ask to be given the TB vaccine if you do not have covid 19 . Although for many in the US it may be to late My country has 4361 infections and the infection rate has already slowed since the Quareenten lock down has started , and now all ppl coming in to the country have to be in mandatory isolation . We have now had 19 deaths The resent news of 100 year old's in italy and china is promising but i have to ask people this old would have also had the TB vaccine so i'm asking was it the fact they survived the 1918 flu or was it the fact that they most likely would have had the TB vaccine also back then . Corona viruses do not always give you immunity and if you do get immunity it is often short lived , hence the need for flu vaccines given to people each year . and no cure for the common cold . I guess we will find out at some time in the future . I'll listen to the Australian Doctors as i do believe that because our health system has been built to be about health outcomes and not profit i do believe it has help us to have the best research and medical labs in the world and our experts are dam good at there job . Profit in healthcare leads to bad medicine Good luck |

If Rump is correct that 1M tests have been done and 163K are positive, that is 16+% infected. No way to stop it now. 80+% will get it before it is done. |
