Sigh...
Donald Trump criticized Sweden's handling of the corona virus during its daily press conference night towards Wednesday.
"There is talk of Sweden. Sweden suffers very bravely. Sweden makes this herd, they call it the herd. Sweden suffers very, very hard. It's a way to do it, but everyone looks at everyone else and so far almost all countries are doing the same thing we do. If we didn't, hundreds of thousands more people would have died," Donald Trump said at the press conference.
The president said that Sweden would deliberately work to ensure that the country obtains a herd immunity against the corona virus. This is something that the Public Health Authority has repeatedly denied.
"No, at least not that it should happen as quickly as possible. On the other hand, we begin to understand that the virus will not stop spreading until we reach the herd immunity. But it must be done calmly, slowly and controlled so that the healthcare system can manage it, we should not rush it," said state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell earlier this year.
@Trump! We in Sweden doesn't suffer very, very hard. At least not more than Spain and Italy but about just as the same as the US for now!

If we would act like Trump want us to do, we would be extinct by now.

Note also that the presidential source for his 'very silly PR claims' has been completely discredited (read effectively as "lies") as a stunt (for whatever reasons) for that source journal.

Please post a link to where and what source was discredited.....

I believe the source article is the one described here:

Hydroxychloroquine-COVID-19 study did not meet publishing society’s “expected standard”
wrote:
... a long list of serious problems with the study, including questions about its ethical underpinnings, messy confounding variables, missing patients, rushed and conflicted peer review, and confusing data...

My translation of the 'science speak' in there is that the supposed clinical trial is worse than discredited misleading trash.

Unfortunately, there has already been a lot of false hype generated by that, and that has CONSEQUENCES.

Who profits?

Who suffers from the collateral damage?

Who profits from that?

Who dies?

From the BBC report.
Mr Modly flew 8,000 miles on Monday to the Pacific island of Guam, where the USS Theodore Roosevelt is docked, and berated the crew for having cheered the captain as he left the ship.
Mr Modly told the crew what their former captain did "was very, very wrong" and amounted to "a betrayal of trust with me, with his chain of command", according to recordings leaked to US media.
The president said he "heard very good things" about Capt Crozier and did not want his career to be ruined "for having a bad day", but added that "the letter should not have been sent to many people unclassified".

So are you saying the security and readiness of one of the most powerful weapons of mass destruction the world has ever known should be subject to scrutiny by any 'interested party'?

What is the point of using "classified" when the first cases had already been reported in the press. Bloomberg, March 24, 2020, 7:30 PM GMT

Cases world wide currently total 1,502,507 and if the U.S. (423,868 cases) stays at its current course will soon account for 1 third of total cases. Spain (146,690) has certainly taken a grip on 2nd spot while Italy (139,422) has 3rd spot. Meanwhile France (112,950) and Germany (111,779) are now in battle over 4th and 5th spots.

South Korea (10,384 cases) which was in 3rd spot early on is now back to 17th spot and a rushing Russia (8,672) looks to bump it (and Israel) down another spot in the next day or 2 with its massive rise of new cases of late. Australia (6,013 cases) which was in the top 10 early on (7th spot IIRC) is now down to 22nd spot and that won't last long as a few other countries are catching up very fast.

You can't really compare the number of French and German cases because France tests so little, even if it's picking up a bit. The real number of infected people in France is easily 3 or 4 times higher than the official count (and that's a conservative estimate).
Gazing at the skies, hoping for contact... Unlikely, but it would be such a fantastic opportunity to learn.

So much for readiness, crew in quarantine & ship requiring decontamination. Not so powerful now is it.

Yes.
Here are the numbers from some countries. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
France testing is 3,436 per one million.
Germany 10,962.
Sweden 5,416.
UK 3,929
US 6,291
Australia 12,524
But does it really matter?
What really matters is that to test people that work with the health care of people having the CV.
There are many regions within what country so ever that now cannot be tested because of lack of testing equipment...

So, now that most everywhere a majority of the population is isolated from each other, how long can the quarantine be maintained and what event will signal that everyone can go back to their previous lifestyle. Some are talking of it being when the rate of infection levels off. Or will it be when no new cases are reported anywhere for two weeks. Can the world economy stay stable long enough or are we headed for anarchy.

Unfortunately, to be expected from the deadly unscrupulous:

Coronavirus fuels a surge in fake medicines

Around the world, people are stockpiling basic medicines. However, with the world's two largest producers of medical supplies - China and India - in lockdown, demand now outstrips the supply and the circulation of dangerous counterfeit drugs is soaring...

... The antimalarial chloroquine is normally sold for about $40 for a pot of 1,000 tablets. But pharmacists in the DRC were found to be selling them for up to $250...

Just one example of the deadly dangers of any fake news...

Speaking of Fake News; I see Andrew Bolt of Sky News https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIHWaaJNktQ is at it claiming that extra special partner of Australia made the virus in a lab. I'm sure this will greatly assist Australia in getting needed medical supplies from Beijing.
