Then probably ISP issues with my and Juan's internet connections with high latency and slow DNS lookups.

Most likely as everything here is still snappy.

Cheers.

What did they forget to do?

I wonder also. The one last week was short also. But needed another outage later in the day. Will the pattern repeat?

Maybe the ram upgrade that they finally got done and other fixes have come together to speed up the DB access/processing speeds?

It looks as if the splitters have spluttered to a standstill :-(
No point in crying, there's nobody going to be around the lad (either physically or virtually) for a few hours, so just relax, enjoy the peace, quiet and reduced energy bills.

Yesterday I was wondering if all of the the files / loaded tapes were going to get split before we were going to run out of tasks to crunch, but this morning it looks like the servers took a different route and stopped splitting and creating tasks with loaded tapes / files still in the queue.

This file has been on the server status page for months if I'm not mistaken, so I was kinda hoping it would have been split

Yeah, we know, I reported the same an hour and thre quarters ago.

But I can confirm it seems to be only the splitters as I received a Astropulse resend _2 at 12:35, crunched it, uploaded and awarded credit.

Looking at the Haveland graphs, something nasty happened to the validators and assimilators around 5 am (UTC), too. That can mean a database problem.

Whatever happened took down Beta as well. My machine at Beta finished it's last task around 0600 EDT.

I had a few stalled downloads with 20 odd hours of trying on a few hosts. So used the toggling of network activity off and on to get them to download. So the download servers are working fine. As long as the scheduler already assigned you tasks in the database they are there for the taking. The schedulers just can't get anything out of the splitters and database.

I felt that the idea of howling at the moon and burning hair might very well fix the issue. If fact the SSP says thing are moving forward
