Looking at the tasks on your computer, one of them should take a couple of hours to run, and the other about 15-30 minutes. That is assuming you are not using the screen saver, if yo are you can more than double those times. Are you saying that allowing the screen saver portion to run allows boinc to actually process more during idle times then just letting the PC put the screen to sleep?? I know Boinc keeps doing tasks when the pc is idle and it keeps processing after the screen times out. |

Screen savers are not always coded as well as they should be and so grab a lot of processing resource. SETI (and many other BOINC based projects) do not need a screen saver to run. In the vast majority of cases they are simply representations of the processing, and with modern non-CRT screens are not required, I just turn the screens off when I'm not using them. You would want a screen saver again on your OLED screen, as those are as susceptible for burn in as the CRTs and Plasma screens were. |

The last contact was like April 19th. The cpu and internal gpu setup you have will not crunch very fast but should reliably contact Seti except Tuesday mornings when Seti@Home is down for maintenance. Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |
