Have you ever met your favorite band?

I think most people have heard of the Simple Minds' song "Don't you forget about me", but the band has had a lot of other good music. I met them backstage in 2002. This is me and the lead singer, Jim Kerr, and the drummer, Mel Gaynor --

Meeting My Favorite Band, that is impossible to do, as the Beatles broke up years ago and only Ringo and McCartney are still around.

U2

So you met Bono?

I've seen Tori Amos several times in concert, and I am smitten with her, but I've never gotten to meet her.

The closest I came to meeting Ozzy Osbourne was at a book signing for "I am Ozzy" at a Barnes & Noble. They had people winding up and down aisles around the building and out the front door, around the side and down for blocks. Michele & I stood outside in subzero temperatures for hours. People next to us in line would take turns holding our place while we went across the street to a hot cocoa place to keep warm. By the time I finally got up to get my book signed, I attempted to take a snapshot on my cell phone, and just as the camera was capturing the image, I was shoved by a security guard to move along and the picture came out as nothing but a blur. I'm still salty about that.

Ozzy was only supposed to sign the first 1000 books, but he stayed until every last person had their copy signed. Other than that, I have not had the pleasure of meeting any other of my favorite bands.

I bought backstage passes for OzzFest one year hoping to get a chance to meet Ozzy, but the backstage pass turned out to be nothing more than a backstage "tour" to see all the props that would be used on stage later. No band members from the multitude of bands there that year were available for meet and greet. I paid $666 for two backstage passes. Another reason to be salty.

Definitely. Wow.

Well, in my case, a friend with connections got me backstage.
