The price of 87 gas in Barstow at one station has dropped to $2.99, but with the indicator saying they're going up, this might not last, best price for 87 is at Food4Less.

Many high performance engines require premium; that's all that I buy.

I know high performance cars need premium, but I didn't think there were many on the road.

Depending on the terrain and speed, I get from 35.6-37.33mpg, not bad for a 20yr old car.

My 2002 Camry has less than 60,000 miles on it. My 1999 Saturn SC1 has 146,000. They both just take 87 octane, and I'm glad. I don't drive much. ~About 3,000 miles a year between the two of them. The Camry was bought brand new by my mother with 4 miles on it. I bought my Saturn with 108,000 on it in 2008.

My 1999 Ford Escort zx2 Sport Hot Coupe has about 110,000 miles and I drive some 3000 miles a year, sometimes into the mountains or into Los Angeles County.

You get some good highway mileage on your car, Vic. All I do is stop n' go short city jaunts, and my mileage averages around 20 on the Camry, and 25 or so on the Saturn.

I filled up at Costco about an hour ago. $2.85 a gallon. That is for 87. My Ford Edge gives me just over 20 mpg mixed driving.

Costco gas is of course cheaper, here, too, but I can't justify buying a membership. My Kroger shopper's card discount gives me around 34 to 45 cents off a gallon.

My Escort is a 4 speed automatic, I do have a buggy tach, buggy cause it doesn't always work.

Food4Less gives out for every 100 points earned 10 cents off per gallon of fuel, $2.99 would be $2.89 which at the moment would be the lowest price in Barstow.

Lowest price of 87 in Barstow CA is now $2.97 and apparently dropping.
