Here's a bit of SATIRE courtesy of The Babylon Bee! Bill Gates Announces He Too Will Go To Space Once His Rocket Is Finished Installing Updates Highlights: .. Experts expressed concern over the planned launch, as early reports indicated Gate's rocket was unstable, with over 50% of the test flights crashing inexplicably. |

Thanks Keith. I thought that was the case. I contributed to renderfarm.fi when it was active this was years ago I enjoyed helping out with the rendering as I did with Burp. I am hopeful one day it will be up and running again. . . Speedy! . . Nice to see there is corps of dedicated groupies still hanging around the S@H stage door ... :) . . I feel like a deserter having been away for so long ... Stephen |

The kitties are quite pleased that they were able to be of some assistance! . . Hey there Kittyman . . I have some new fur babies here. A friend of a friend found two x 1 week old fluffballs in her yard that had apparently been lost my their mother in some stress situation. Sadly she was a working professional lady and did not have time to raise them so I adopted them, six months old now and keeping me busy :) Stephen :) |

My youngest daughter inquired of me building her a new gaming PC last week and she was flabbergasted when I told her that just the cost of a suitable GPU would cost more than what it cost to build her whole last rig. . . Hi Wiggo, . . Glad to see you still putting in an appearance here :) Stephen :) |

Re: the Nebula post, it sounded like he was going to try to get FAST observations on Targets that showed something interesting from previous SETI data. To verify that it's real. then re-analyze using the SETI@home client on a super computer cluster, since it'll likely only be a handful of targets. probably wont need the whole SETI user base for that. Made me really think that once he "writes a paper" he will wash his hands clean of SETI and shut it all down. Seti@Home classic workunits: 29,492 CPU time: 134,419 hours ![]() ![]() |

... Made me really think that once he "writes a paper" he will wash his hands clean of SETI and shut it all down. After chasing this for most of his academic life for over a quarter century, I very much doubt that!! Far more likely there will be a brief pause for thought and to recharge all energy banks, to then fire off another round of funding battles to fund the New Improved s@h search! Keep searchin'! ... Made me really think that once he "writes a paper" he will wash his hands clean of SETI and shut it all down. sure sounds like it to me: David Anderson wrote: There, I said it: after 25 years working on SETI@home, and 5 years working on Nebula, we're finally on the home stretch. The finish line (producing a final candidate list, and writing a paper) is in view, maybe a few months off. It's been a slog, and I'm eager to have it behind me. Hi folks, . . Yep Ian, that comment does sound like DA is ready to move on. But even if he does and all the other boffins on the S@H crew do the same, the search itself will not be over. I had the impression that much of what has been achieved is mostly a 'proof of concept'. Establishing that we can provide the resources to maintain a viable ongoing monitor for artificial EM signals (or perhaps the laser concept or even gravitic waves though they seem less likely to a layman like myself). But it will require an organisation with the will and the resources to pursue it. So keep the flag waving. There is always hope. Stephen 8-} |

I'm sure that lot of people from here feel the same. |

TSMC Exploring On-Chip, Semiconductor-Integrated Watercooling Will be interesting to see if they can bring this to fruition. I would expect the clock speed of such chips to be way above what is presently possible. Grant Darwin NT |
