I find this file interesting blc04_2bit_blc04_guppi_58152_83520_DIAG_PSR_J0645+5158_0006 0.00 GB as I write it is up to (56) surely it can't be splitting nothing or can just go through the motions?

It seems to have started when the Arecibo tasks ramped up. Coincidence? I'm not big on coincidences.
So far my machines are recovering by themselves, but, there are definite glitches in the matrix.

Well except for that one transaction after I turned off AP work, I am back to getting nothing in return for work turned in.

So, what is your cache setting? Are you getting the limit message because your CPU cache is full?
All my machines are still set at 1 day for now, I'm not getting the Limit message.

Hmmmm, yes, that's the type of File I was thinking about when I made the thread about Lost tasks. It was there back in Feb but can't be found now. There must not be very many of them, because as you see one missing file will rattle 6 people;

I suggest that Keith is not telling the WHOLE truth with his complaint - as I type he has the following numbers of tasks in progress:

All tasks for computer 5741129 = In progress (1000) (expected = 400)
All tasks for computer 8306366 = In progress (1381) (expected = 400)
All tasks for computer 8480062 = In progress (1318) (expected = 500)
ll tasks for computer 6279633 = In progress (1020) (expected = 400)
All tasks for computer 8030022 = In progress (1014) (expected = 400)

Bunkering and rescheduling can have some very strange effects on the servers and you appear to have triggered one of them - work outside the rules and expect to get bitten.

I think he pretty much gave up after the download error and just decided to prepare for tomorrow and go to bed. Sounds good to me.
Most of my new CPU tasks are Arecibo VLARs, and that means there are quite a few of them around. We could be VLARed at any time.

I've been getting a few stuck downloads. If a download gets stuck while sleeping I could wake up to an empty cache and a down project :-(

My somewhat slow machine is doing very well right now, keeping cache full with 100 CPU tasks + 100 GPU tasks.
Right now I'm more worried about the large number of Validation pending tasks. Many tasks from the last 6 days of March are not validated, even though they were done and promptly returned without any faults by both myself and my wingman.
Do these have some kind of deadline, and what happens to them if they reach it ?

I find this file interesting blc04_2bit_blc04_guppi_58152_83520_DIAG_PSR_J0645+5158_0006 0.00 GB as I write it is up to (56) surely it can't be splitting nothing or can just go through the motions?

Has passed through the system and is no longer on the server status page

Looking at an example like task 6518701500, you'll see

Usually, there's an automatic retry on the original 'report deadline', so in this case have another look around 9 May - you have a month to wait - and the database will be bloated for another month. Another reason for shorter deadlines.
