Indeed. So exciting, that I'm not quite sure, just how much more excitement I can handle.

One of my little crunchers threw such a temper tantrum that I had to stand it in the corner for a bit.
After threatening it with no Einsteins for a week, it finally settled down....

Eric posted in the news thread that the current work is courtesy of Matt and Dropbox. And at the usual present rate of consumption will last about a day and a half (if everyone's caches were full).
He's still having difficulties convincing the Uni tech support mob there is an issue.
Maybe tomorrow.

. . I've got 5 APs stuck on my fast rig. They try to run then stop and go to "waiting to run" status. I've checked app_info.xml and the section for APs is there and the app files are in the folder too. Strangely there were 2 sections for AP_V7 so I commented out the second section (older version) but still they will not run. If I could send them to you you would be welcome to them :)

So, nine hours after the project came back online, I finally have full caches. Took forever to get any cpu tasks on two of the crunchers, only within the last hour did one machine get any cpu work.

So wasn't the cpu cache or slowest hardware supposed to get filled first? Or do I have that backwards?

I don't know what's supposed to happen, but it's always been the faster processor that gets work first.

. . Work has been patchy, often getting the "no work available" response, but I now have full or near full caches. What do you have your work request set to? Try opening it up to the max, get 10 days with 0 or 0.1 set for the additional days. That should get a few and request more every 5 mins or with each completed task.

. . Hope your downloads pick up.

Stephen

You've downloaded a whole bunch of Milkyway work, due Feb5. So your system is going to be busy crunching that, before it can get much more Seti work.

i have to apologize for my wingmens too because of a ten to thirteen days lag in CPU crunching ...

Yes, it was fastest device first IIRC.
Now my CPU is the fastest device but i always get work for GPU first.

I am just hoping that IT gets to the root of the comms problem and they don't have to keep bouncing batches of work off the cloud to get it to the splitters.
If not, it was a rather creative way to do it.
Maybe that process could be automated if necessary.
Of course, the scientific view would be that the extra transfer diminishes the integrity of the data. Chain of possession.

Do you have "receive other tasks" tagged?
