From what I've gathered, AP (at least, any results being added to the DB('s)) was over anyway, and the Tasks sent out was just... make-work. |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? . . Look on the bright side ... no more Arecibo VLAR tasks :) Stephen :) |

Don't know. That post could be interpreted a couple of ways. No more reprocessing of old tapes or more likely no new data from Arecibo since it got damaged and status is questionable.Or most likely, both together. Nothing left to reprocess AND no new tapes in sight. |

I have no illogical attachment to tasks from Arecibo. It served its purpose in the beginning. Time to move on. It's not as if there is any lack of work coming from Breakthrough Listen and soon Parkes. Whether the volunteer developers ever attempt to make a AP V8 application for new data is the only interesting question I have. Searching for broadband signals is much harder than listening for narrow band signals. Takes more processing power. But as we know, processing power in the last decade has improved exponentially. I'm getting "transient HTTP errors" when trying to download sometimes. Seems new to me, don't recall seeing them before... Anyone else getting them? Any idea what causes them? |

Yes, I get them all the time when the servers are busy after an outage. Had plenty today until the caches got refilled. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

No problems here, but I've got an entry in my Hosts file to the good download server. WooHoo!. I just picked up my first Arecibo resend (since we ran out of Arecibo data). Grant Darwin NT |

Ever since the servers came back online there's been no problems here at all except for picking up some ghosts on my 2500K rig. Cheers. |

I had issues on all computers with stalled downloads because the download server couldn't be found or was slow in replying. I was still getting stalled downloads on two computers several hours later and I couldn't figure out why until I looked at my Hosts file. I thought I had un-commented the download servers but apparently the save never took because on the Windows 10 computer, the Hosts file is protected excepted from an admin account. Edited with an admin account to expose the Seti servers and all my stalled downloads magicically cleared up. The other computer I guess I had missed when I was going round the farm editing the Hosts file. Posted a reply to Richard about what download server was working when he asked if anyone else was having issues. Made it seem he was thinking of advising Eric there was a problem. Yes, and it matched my observations, continuing this morning: .119 georgem is working well, .127 vader is uncooperative. |

Woke up this morning to a nearly empty cache, due to a handful of stalled downloads. I aborted those, and restartet Boinc...everything cleared up and my cache filled up nicely. Now...getting "transient HTTP-error" and more stalled downloads. All the servers are uncommented in my hosts file (208.68.240.118, .119 and .126) Database status shows all the DL servers as Running, and UL works fine...any idea what could be going on ? ...Ghia... Your router is playing up? Your ISP is playing up? Your interconnect to Berkeley is playing up? Anything is possible - it's a long chain of interconnected devices, all of which have to work. My first action would be to check the state of my in-house router - my ISP has set it to reset the line once a week, and it always seems to to happen at the most awkward moment. But it reconnects automatically after a couple of minutes. Then, I'd enable <http_debug> logging and retry a couple of transfers - see what the actual reason for those transient HTTP-errors might be. Once you know what the errors are, you can start to plan ahead - the paths diverge there. |

My router is fine... and it lasted too long to be an IP-renewal hiccup. Plus, I checked all those obvious reasons. But wouldnt' you know it...after posting about it here, the problem magically disappeared... :-) Tnx anyway ! Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

Tried the <http_debug> option, but I have no idea what it means... 06/01/2018 14:10:50 | SETI@home | [http] HTTP_OP::init_get(): http://boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/download_fanout/38d/blc05_2bit_guppi_57976_06552_HIP74702_0024.16930.0.22.45.6.vlar |

Restarting the router and clearing the DNS cache (Windows: ipconfig /flushdns) solved my issue after manually retrying the download. |

Restarting the router and clearing the DNS cache (Windows: ipconfig /flushdns) solved my issue after manually retrying the download. That didn't help here. But after another download try it worked, seems download sometimes work, sometimes not. |

Still having issues with downloads. I have been aborting the stuck downloads, but is it possible to hard code the IP address for the good download server on my Windows 10 machine? ~Chris |
