Well, it's been said several times now from the project admins, that the project needs more volunteers to crunch data. And I thank you very much for your kind thoughts. Meow! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Well my 2500K rig just ran out of GPU work, but my 3570K rig is keeping its head above water so far. Cheers. |

Just run out of my CPU cache. The GPU cache was dry when I got home from work several hours ago...Petri, you should really run though the ghost recovery procedure once in awhile. You have over 1400 ghost from back in early October. These would most likely be too old to recover, but 1 recovery attempt would release them all back into the wild .... If you can recover them all, I calculate that needing 74 attempts and about 13.5 hours to complete, so an evening with many drinks :)) |

Uhh....... Time to chill a bit, marsinph. You are not the only one a bit frustrated about not getting work at the moment. So, Grant missed a WU that he got and crunched. No big deal. Certainly has nothing to do with the problem being found and fixed. We are all waiting on that. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Nahh, the trickle of work going out just dropped the cache below 600k to restart the splitters for a short time. My read of the graphs. . . PS: Mark I know where there are 400 tasks you have that need to be run :D |

I know, but I have had real life to deal with today. And I've been playing with a new CPU. And tomorrow I'm off to visit my Mom. No rest for the wicked, as they say. Meow. LMAO, so you are saying you will be away from the computer, and it wouldn't matter what OS it is running during that time .... Haha, I had to say it :D |

Eric says he is looking into the server problem now. Meow!! EDIT..... The database was hanging trying to access the results table. The reset we just had was Eric trying to clear it up. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Eric says he is looking into the server problem now. Yup...getting several different log msgs now, "server error : feeder not running"...."project servers may be temporarily down" etc. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

marsinph- Commenting on things you know nothing about makes you look like a fool. And saying something is false information, when it isn't, just makes you look like an even bigger fool. Grant Darwin NT |

Just got 101 tasks...........meowza!!!! Shortly before that, Eric said he may have to rebuild the results table. Dunno if that is for certain or not, or what it would involve if he does. Given that the In-Progress tasks are down 1M and the server cache is 600k, they ill be instantly gone, and about 12h before things are 'normal' |

Stephen, . . Why are there so many people like you? Get your head out of your rear and use your ears instead of your imagination. Oh and try and keep up with the conversation. My rigs have not been able to get work since 8am yesterday morning local time. They have spent most of the time since then powered down. I ran them until midday yesterday trying to tickle some work out of the servers and when I could not get more than a task or two I shut down for "the duration". I fired them up at 9pm last night hoping they might have solved the issue, but no. I tried for ages and managed to get downloads twice on this machine at about midnight (of 7 tasks and 14 I think it was) and was beginning to hope the problem was solved or getting better, but again no. At 5 am this morning I checked again and that d/l was the last I got. My attempts on the main rig have been almost entirely futile. When running the ghost recovery procedure I managed to recover 40 ghosted tasks and each attempt prompted the download of maybe a dozen more on the next request but all of these "achievements" were trivial and not followed up with any more work. So one step forward two steps back. So again I powered them all down. Now at 10am today I fired them up and I am still getting "no tasks available" on every work request. So go back to your little corner and count your toes and leave the grown ups in peace. Pleasure? I find nothing pleasurable about wasting time and money trying to support a project with it crumbling around my ears and no way to resolve the issue, and then to be denigrated by a troll like you. I considered maybe that BOINC version was a factor, but it is affecting users running many different versions of BOINC client/manager, and the contributors who seem to be least affected are also running varied versions. One contributor I know who has always seemed to be relatively unaffected is running a very old version of BOINC so maybe we should all downgrade to his version? If focussing on a single bit of information and telling ourselves we have discovered control of fire had any chance of working ... NOT! Richard offered the hope that when staff returned to the lab at Berkeley it should be sorted out, but this issue has been a major problem for over 24 hours now which, unless the USA was having a holiday, has certainly covered at least one shift of duty in the lab, so either they are blissfully unaware of the problem or they do not have a solution for it. . . So have a good day ... Stephen :( |
