I'm pleased we have a few people left in America who know how to read the Constitution, just sad one of them isn't in the White House. Perhaps the one who can't should get a personal lifetime ban from the NFL, NHL, NBA, Baseball and NCAA. After all, bans are a favorite tactic of that one. |

The athletes imposing their political and social views. Be it Anti Racism, Pro KKK, et al on the playing field. Are cutting their own throats. One could then conversely argue that politics are being imposed on the athletes by forcing them to stand for the national anthem and that it is an imposition of the "real world" into the sporting event. They are the ones resisting this imposition as you are wanting the management to do. (I'm also at a loss why it's considered "disrespectful" or some such. Silent kneeling? In a religious service this is a respectful act of veneration. If they wanted to be disrespectful without ambiguity they could always moon the audience... no argument there. :^p ) Edit: Seen all this before with the daily Pledge recitals by schoolchildren... it's merely a test to see which nails stand up so that they can be hammered into place. |

Impose on you political or social views you find abhorrent. Is stating one's view imposing? That's a rather Orwellian view point IMO. Edit: Clyde your posts imply you advocate thought control, your true colors are showing. |

PC is finally destroying the National Political Power of The Left in the USA. Fun to watch their suicide.Which will eventually lead to a "lovely" new program - Strength through Joy. :-) |

Fun to watch their suicide.Which will eventually lead to a "lovely" new program - Strength through Joy. :-) I hold both with disgust. As I hold both The Radical Left and The Radical Right in disgust.YET, you have never stated just who will replace them Hopefully, for the future of humanity. You agree with me.Not until you answer questions that are raised by your "????" posts. Meanwhile, back on topic. PC Brigade backs down |

Some post have disappeared. Lets try an be sensible I know it is hard. As all some posters seem to want to do is expose what they believe are flaws in others character. Do that and post will be hidden. Prove the persons view point is wrong, try not to attack the person you actually know nothing about Also it is quite difficult for a poster to be off topic in their own thread, if they are happy with the direction the thread is taking. |

Very often "points of view" taken at the time of the "incident" are often seen much differently later. People may say they disagree with the NFL players stance on racial discrimination now but what will the opinion be in 20 years. Take a look back at the last 50 years of US history and see what the US public's "point of view" about things as they happened and what the US public's "points of view" is now. 1963 the March on Washington, MLK “I Have a Dream†speech. 1969 March against the Vietnam war 1993 LGBT march against discrimination and seeking more funding for AIDS research 2003 January, Protests against the Iraq war In all of the above the US public "point of view" at the time was against the event but now most of the people the "point of view" is 100% opposite. |

Off the field, is an important difference. There is no field until "Play Ball" To those who boycott, the less an less things you do that Americans do, the less and less American you become. |

Very often "points of view" taken at the time of the "incident" are often seen much differently later. Then Politics should butt out when sports events go to places the politicians don't like. And that's not going to happen, so sports and politics are entwined whether you like it or not. Lets not forget that Kaepernick's action was about racism and equality not politics. “I’m talking about the comments that were made by the president, targeting the NFL, targeting the quality and character of guys in this league for that very protest,†Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith told reporters after the Chiefs game, zeroing in, lest he be misunderstood. “I found that very alarming. It’s the same guy who wouldn’t condemn violent neo-Nazis. And he’s condemning guys taking a knee during the anthem.†|

"National Football League (NFL) player Colin Kaepernick first sat down during the anthem in preseason in 2016."I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of colour," he said." Didn't they fight long & hard for desegregation & not to be called coloured person but Black? So what do they do? Call others coloured people. Trump denies comments were race related |
