I used to keep a twelve pack of Mtn Dew in my car's trunk, and it never froze, even in the dead of winter. Tells you something...

What ever happened to the Cool Ranch taco at Taco Bell? The nacho one is still there.

I don't know, but if I go to Taco Bell, I generally stick with the mini-quesadillas on the dollar menu.

I'm glad you are having fun with this contest!

Eric has really cut down on Mountain Dew over the past few years, so I'm sorry I haven't been able to contribute to your point count. I love Cool Ranch Doritos, but I never buy them because I know how weak I am. If I encounter them at parties, I have to force myself to walk away from the bowl.

Hit the wrong quote. Meant to hit this one.

Angela. Ever have a cool ranch taco at Taco Bell?

I have only eaten at Taco Bell once in my life, and it was before the invention of the cool ranch taco.

My fast food experiences are quite limited, and therefore somewhat memorable. I've eaten at McDonald's twice in my life. I remember the first time. It was on a field trip with the Girl Scouts in the sixth grade. I remember liking the hot apple pie. The second time was several years ago in Arizona with nieces and nephews who were lured by the "contrived collectable" toys in Happy Meals at the time. I ordered a salad. It was ok.

I ate at a Carl's Jr. once, about 25 years ago, on a road trip with a friend to LA. It was the first time I had ever had waffle fries and I remember them as being dangerously tasty, when dunked in ranch dressing.

I had Kentucky Fried Chicken a few times as a child. My parents never bought it, but I had it in the homes of friends. Eric and I took a nephew to KFC when we were on a road trip several years ago. I remember finding the chicken greasy and the mashed potatoes salty.

I put on extra weight very easily. Lucky me for having such an efficient body!!! No calories wasted here!!! When that plane crashes in the Andes, I'm going to outlive everybody on board. In the meanwhile, I try to keep my weight somewhat in check by avoiding fast food. If I am going to down extra calories (and trust me, I do this early and often) I'd rather they be calories from foods I've had a hand in making.

But really, if your care about Vic. How come not one of you have even tried to talk like a friend and stepped up to the plate and say the obvious.

Many of us in this community care deeply about Vic. Certainly Vic has received kind and supportive health information from friends, through both public posts and private pms. What Vic ultimately chooses to do is between Vic and his personal physician.

My friends, stress is a big factor in overall health.

Personal journal style threads can be a form of stress relief, and can therefore be health-promoting.

If I had started a personal journal-style thread about the complexities of my life, I think that I would feel very, very, very stressed if I had to defend myself all the time from accusations that I am a chubby little raccoon and that being a chubby little raccoon increases my health risks. It would defeat the purpose of me having a stress-relief thread if defending myself, again and again, ultimately resulted in increased stress.

Let us all be kind to one another, please.

Chris, you have made your position abundantly clear. I'm sure that if Vic wishes to be the beneficiary of your additional thoughts on this matter, he will contact you directly.

Just a minor point to consider.
During the auction the link to "Eric K" may well point to the auction concerned, and probably to "proper" position within the auction; once the auction has finished it points to the next (today's) auction for the same prize - which isn't what I think you wanted us to see. I can't see a way around this :-(

However I too found it quite fascinating that the person just ahead of you was an Eric K - now do I believe Angela's protestations or not....on the balance of probability I think I just about do

If Grace continues sneezing, get her to the vet immediately!
Once in a while is normal for kitties, but continued sneezing can be a sign of a possible respiratory infection.
Do not hesitate if she keeps it up!

I always wondered if contests of this sort really increased product sales... Well, mission accomplished, apparently. Enthusiasm of this sort makes me wish I had stock in PepsiCo.

There was a carton of Mountain Dew cans in our refrigerator and I ripped apart the box looking for a code for you, but I must have purchased the carton before the contest started. There were no magic numbers there.

Vic, maybe you could invite all your neighbors over for a party and maybe serve some kind of punch made from all that soda?

Anyway, hope you win.

I hope that everyone participating in this auction realizes that once a person breaks the seal on those containers of Mountain Dew, they should be kept in the refrigerator until they can be enjoyed.

Sugar solution = bacteria invitation

Refrigeration slows this down quite a bit.

Squeezing all the air out of bottle adds a little more shelf life.
