What is your CPU and RAM usage doing on the widget I told you about when this problem occurs?
It's in Control Panel/Desktop Gadgets.

Well Windows Task Manager, on the Performance Tab says cpu usage is in the weeds, so lots of room, across 8 cores, 4 have almost nothing, and 4 have weeds, it's a 4820K cpu. At least right now, I'll let you know.

Try ditching the fake 8 cores in your bios and run it as the 4 core that it actually is.
It's a 3.7Ghz processor, not too shabby at all.
See if that helps things at all.

Meow.

Ok.

And whilst you are at it, after you reboot, check CPUZ.
Make sure it is running at 3.7Ghz and not being throttled by anything.
Especially under load after it heats up a bit.
Like when you are running Seti on the CPU.

Yep.

OK....so you now have 4 full cores running at 3.7Ghz, correct?
Check CPUZ again. Check the memory and SPD tabs.
Does the memory tab show the RAM running at what the SPD indicates it should be?

No not yet. I didn't say when, I just agreed with you.
I'm about to go out to the store.

OK, post later when you get to it.

Good luck. When will you know?

November 7th is box release date; I'm sure you know... wink wink

AC and RDR are coming up for new releases soon and Gamestop does trade-ins on boxes.

I had a video driver failure this week on 10-5-2017, and a black screen.

That could be caused by many things, not just the GPU or driver.
But, check your GPU temp. And if the fan is running at the proper speed.
And the experiments I suggested yesterday.

The fan is forced to run at 100%, constantly, afterburner does that.

Fine.....so what is the temp???
At idle, and when crunching Seti.

I haven't had a Dorito in ages, but I'm willing to help out. Mountain Dew and Doritos will go on my grocery list for next week.

Eric drinks Mountain Dew occasionally. He has cut way back on this over the years. The next time I buy some for him, I'll look for the points.

Cool Ranch Doritos are a guilty junk food pleasure for Ol Pookers and yours truly. I never buy them because we would eat them instantly if I brought them into the house.

I remember in the early 1980's, when we used to buy 8 pack cartons of returnable glass soft drink bottles(16 ounce size, I believe), Coca-Cola had a promotion where monetary prizes were awarded underneath the metal caps. Pop one off, and look under it, and sometimes you'd get 25 cents, or more, and you could redeem the cap at the grocery.

If they removed the air-con junk you might find the reduced back pressure in the flue system will actually keep the pilot in.

Ok, I got a big bag of Doritos that says 200 points. What do I do now?

I looked for Mountain Dew with codes, but I didn't see any. The grocery did however have 4-pack 12 ounce glass bottles of real sugar Dew and Pepsi.

The codes are on the inside of the bag, and on the inside of the White caps, pm Me with them, then I will do the rest Gordon Lowe.

Thanks in advance.

Well... that is easy enough. I'll be looking. 8^)

I like to mix Code Red and Wild Cherry Pepsi together since they both have a cherry flavor. And I also drink soda pop a room temperature or ice cold. Doses not matter too much to me.
