I have the latest Linux Mint 18.1 with XFCE and the screensaver doesn't appear to work. I added the appropriate line to .xscreensaver, but when it kicks in, it just says "screensaver loading". However, if I do a sudo boincscr -rootit runs. Any ideas? PS - I'm trying to give Linux a try but I keep running into these little annoyances! |

From http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/BOINC_screensaver: On Linux: Seti only sends out the graphics application with CPU science applications on Windows and OS X, so unless you built the graphics app yourself or got it from third party, you won't have it. |
