Hey everyone...

Finally built a new machine and got it processing tasks but noticed it isn't utilising the 1050Ti at all. It is only doing CPU tasks.

Machine can be found here https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8241353

I did the normal install of the Boinc client.

I am going to try a reinstall of Boinc as I definitely want the 1050Ti crunching as well.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Um, I can think of only one, did you get the video driver from Nvidia or Microsoft?

If from Microsoft, go to Nvidia and get a driver from there, try and do a clean install.

If from Nvidia, I'm lost.

What version video driver are you running?

EDIT-
I think v376.56 is the minimum required for the GTX 1050Ti.

If you have an older un-updated version of WIn10, there are issues with installing new drivers. They require the current major updates to have been done before the newer video drivers will install.

I just did a clean install and now I am getting a

GPU Missing - Ready to start (0.195 CPU's + 1 NVIDIA GPU)

in the tasks list.

Very odd....

Clean Operating System install?
You need to do all the major updates before the driver will install properly.

GPU Missing - Ready to start (0.195 CPU's + 1 NVIDIA GPU)
in the tasks list.
Very odd....

Right click on the Desktop, Display Settings, Advanced Display setting, Display Adaptor properties, at the top in Adaptor type does it say "Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti" or just "Microsoft basic display adapter?"

EDIT- checked on the minimum driver at it's listed as 375.63

I should have clarified.

Just did a clean install of the Boinc Client. As for the Adapter Type - it does say Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti

I'd suggest posting the first 30 or so lines from the Manager Event log.

EDIT- are they processing now?
Just had another look at your computers, and it now shows the Video card & driver against your Ryzen system. As well as a whole bunch of errored WUs, and another group of WUs that have downloaded to be crunched by the SoG application.

Sorry for the hassle guys....

Realised after stuffing around that it was my fault...

I have the new machine sitting standalone and use remote access to connect to it. When this happens it logs the local user off and it stops using the video card.

My bad...!!!

I think I will install VNC onto the machine and remote into that way.

Thanks for all the ideas guys.... appreciated...

Always seems to be the simple things :)
