Dame Vera Margaret Lynn CH DBE OStJ, widely known as "the Forces' Sweetheart", is an English singer, songwriter and actress. Her musical recordings and performances were enormously popular during the Second World War.

When the time comes, that lovely lady should be given a state funeral comparable to Churchill's. She was the "Spirit" of Britain, when the country sorely needed one.
