Has anybody noticed if their credits and RAC counts are changing since (say) July 1?

With the distribution of new workunits being 'down' for several days, I would have thought that the validator would have been able to do some catching up and begin to register some credit since the project went live.

From my account, I do not see any indication that live workunits are being validated and credited.

I haven't noticed anything in the last couple of days, but with no WU's going out the completed WU's coming in would have trickled to a stop as well - so I would think there should be a period of a couple of days where there is very little to be validated, and very little change in the scores.

I wouldn't get upset. It's very easy to go two days with nothing granted. Your RAC however, should be going down.

Hi All

I've been crunching for over two weeks with approx 200 units completed, but I've got 0 credit and 0 RAC. Am I right to be paranoid yet???? I do know that many of the units had the 3 returns required for credit to be granted, but now I can't even check this.

Feeling a bit left out!!

This is not unheard of... Luck of the draw basically.

Be patient. A friend of mine is in your same situtation. 0/0. You just gotta wait until the server gets a chance to verify your work units. When they had the front end offline the other day so they could play catch-up, I got a LOT of credits. I had about 1600 pending before they started it. Wish I could check now, but that feature is offline for now to avoid bogging down the servers. I got a BIG boost from that 'catch-up', and have slowly gained more since then.

Total credit 935.31
Recent average credit 66.06

Close to 200 of those credits have been awarded in the last 2 days.

It will get to you. Do not worry.

It seems to be catching up really quick now, (for me anyways) my RAC jumped from 61 to 120 last night.

Yes, it seems like it's picking up steam. Wish I could look at the results though - I was tracking them on a spreadshhet on my computer.

I have an Athlon XP 2200 that gets 99%+, 24x7 and returns 5-6 WUs a day. It runs along at 30-40 RAC. But I see other 2200's (and even 1900's) in the leaderboard with 150-200-250+ RACs.

So... does the RAC jump when, for example, a bunch of the other (2) copies of your completed work units get verified and everyone gets credited?

I wouldn't put too much faith in any of the numbers right now, the recent problems are going to skew the numbers too much and they weren't really stable yet from the initial launch anyways.

I'd also re-do your benchmarks and just wait for things to settle.

Exactly you would think that it would be caught up by now but i still have like 7 or 8 thousand credits pending if not more since i cant see and i know a good 1/2 to 3/4 of my results already have all three returned. Ive been patient but dang this is taking awhile

Yes. RAC is recalculated when credit is granted. It can go up or down at that time. It can go down if it has been awhile since the last grant of credit.

No reason to rebenchmark, unless you've made HW changes in the last few days. The client SW hasn't changed a bit since launch, and even with that, the client will "rebenchmark" on it's own about once a week. Heck, benchmarks are really inconsistant based on OS anyway! (Benchmark code was completely replaced in BOINC a few days before this "launch"!)

Even when things settle, it can take a couple weeks for credit to be "granted". This isn't a startup problem. It's the way the made BOINC work. RAC will still be way off for new people joining BOINC....
