OzzFan...

Your response was going to be mine regarding "patriotic correctness".

You do also agree with, paraphrasing your post: 'Anyone that doesn't help advance the liberal agenda must be publicly humiliated and shamed so they can be intimidated into falling in line'... Must also be dismissed and assigned to the Sewer of History. In order to defend our freedoms

Correct?

I have stated in the past that I think too much political correctness is a bad thing, and in some cases has gone too far.

...Anyone that doesn't help advance the conservative agenda must be publicly humiliated and shamed so they can be intimidated into falling in line. Sounds kinda like cronyism dictatorship to me.
I agree 100% ozzfan, apparently freedom of speech and thought are not important anymore. Here I thought we (as a country, as a race) had moved past this. I guess history is doomed to repeat itself over and over.

Sad times my friend.

One thing this election has changed for me, is my opinions of many of my fellow humans.

And to have the gull to call any watchlist 'great'--- wow. How un-american can someone be. I thought one of the founding principals of this country was individual freedoms like speech and thought.

Unfortunately I suspect a reprisal of the House un-American activities committee -- or the House Un-Republican thoughts committee.

Insane isn't it, when you try an experiment that's already been seen to fail every time. I wonder how much isn't going to trickle down from this lot, Trump’s 17 cabinet-level picks have more money than a third of American households combined

Yes, the Republican way or the highway

So the past 8 years were the GOP way, so glad to know you have owned the failure to govern.

Freedom/right to free speech? Professor watch list... Doesn't block their right to show their ignorance, it just provides material for SNL, or the Comedy Channel. Democrats want to block free speech which disagrees with progress towards statism.

Freedom/right to be armed? Di-Fei (D-CA) proposed watch list... lists, public shaming, persecution..., proposed watch list for terrorists (with guns!), and a blocked bill from republicans which would have balanced the interest of the state in preventing terrorists from buying guns with the individual's right to due process... Democrats want to remove the individual's right to self-defense.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander! Get over it.

Yes, the Republican way or the highway

So what you're saying is it's OK to do it as long as it's your side in power. So you're not really against the democrats doing it. You're just upset that it wasn't the GOP doing it until now.

Why post-truth is dangerous to human life.
https://priceonomics.com/the-space-shuttle-challenger-explosion-and-the-o/
My particular interest is how selective data has been particularly troublesome in media, especially with the growth of social media. In the next post in this series, we’ll look at the challenges of selective media coverage, seeing how it leads us to bad inferences and distorts the decisions we then make.

Selectively analyzing data like in the case of the Challenger is a pervasive problem, but it's particularly common in media. For example, the media reports when bad things happen (like a rare terrorist attack) but doesn't report when it doesn't happen because the absence of an event isn't newsworthy. As media consumers, however, we use this coverage to form opinions and make life decisions (like voting, determining personal safety, convincing our friends of certain beliefs), without realizing how selective this coverage is; this distorts how we view the world and leads us to make flawed decisions.

Eliminate All Government??? Hmmmmmmmmmm

Eliminate ALL Government? Bad idea...

Downsize the HADES out of Government? Damn straight!

With a MUCH smaller Government with strict limits on its power, we would be a lot better off.

Less Government power= More Freedom and Liberty.
Smaller Government = smaller Tax bill.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Much as I would like to agree, if the last year has taught us anything. It is that there is a sizeable proportion of the population without the self discipline to use freedom in a way agreeable to the golden rule.

And it has all the hallmarks of getting worse, considering the president elect is one of the worst.

You bet now that they hold all 3 branches, they will be doing a LOT to make sure they never lose power again. By the time they have their way, gerrymandering will be the least of the questionable tactics to worry about.

But these guys have real world experience! They are successful! They aren't worried about their money- they are only worried about the american people!

They will make america great again. I promise. Don't worry, they won't mislead us, or rob us, or lie to us, and they are all soooo qualified to take over their respective duties.

I'm feeling the greatness and it's not even January 20th yet! Things are gonna be great!

I made double this year than what I made the years before and after Obama took over. This is simply unacceptable and MUST be fixed! I'm so glad the Oligarchs are here to make things better for me!

Hey Gary, here's another interesting one: Top Trump aide forming group to back White House agenda

A group, to back his agenda.

...the group will be "about supporting the conservative agenda and what the Trump movement stands for."

(Yes Obama had a similar organization used to lobby his supporters, but I'm not convinced Trump's group will be used in the same fashion..)

http://www.infowars.com/75-times-obama-broke-law-during-presidency/

Tip for identifying post-truth - infowars is used as a source.

A couple of facts about infowars

- it believes the 9/11 attack on NYC and Washington D.C. was "an inside job", i.e. one perpetrated by the US Government

- it believes the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a "false flag" operation - i.e. the victim, and their relatives, were actors (no-one died), so that the U.S. Government could impose further gun laws.

There are plenty more conspiracy theories that infowars subscribes to (e.g. FEMA is building internment camps), suffice it to say, when it's used as a source, imho the remainder of a post is automatically suspect.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

Yes, the Republican way or the highway

The above one-way accusation, without understanding that the enemies of The Republicans - The Democrats - are the same. Is very sad and worse.

MK, and other's who believe in Individual Freedom, by dividing and reducing Corrupt Power, are correct.

I agree, and although I am sure some of his pre-election rhetoric shall have to be toned down by the reality of working with what's already in place, I do hope that Trump is able to tear apart some of the 'good ol' boy' network and finally lay some politicians to rest as they should have been years ago.
"Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once."
