I got some at the 99 cent only store. I live in Edison service area and they bought down the price.

99 cents for a 50/100/150 LED bulb?!

Does anybody know where I can find an LED equivalent 3-way 50/100/150 bulb? (For less than an arm and a leg)

Did you look at Amazon?
They have a 30/70/100 for about $17.47 and a 50/100/150 for $23.99, mind you this is w/FREE shipping, w/a min $49.00 order.

I would want the 50/100/150. $23.99 is just a huge price to pay for that, though. I can still get the incandescent version for a buck or two. If I could see the math on it where the LED's longevity and lower power consumption makes sense, I'd go ahead and get it.

If I had a shorter sofa or a love seat, I'd eventually get one for the lamp on the living room end table, which is behind My semi broken sofa, since the lamp has a 3 way socket that I installed, I'd inherited that lamp from My Sister, it even has a night light function, neat really, the only problem is the lamp switch is really high up, the lamp needs a lower pedestal table or have the pedestal table shortened by about a foot, I'd repaired the table back in 2004, My Brother fell on it in 2003(He was hospitalized in 2004, He died in early 2005, emphysema & lung cancer, that went to His head, literally), so no one else wanted the table, thinking the table could not be repaired, this was child's play to repair, I just matched the piece that was broken, and I just made sure the new holes in the new part lined up with the old holes in the old part and the table was usable again.

Make that 6 lamps, not 4, 7 if I were to include the one I can't reach anymore.

Santa Claus Look-Alike Kicked Out of Six Flags Over Texas

A North Texas grandfather closely resembling Santa Claus was kicked out of Six Flags Over Texas on Saturday.
"They told me I look too much like Santa Claus and they can't have it," said Jerry Henderson.
...
In a statement to NBC 5, Six Flags Over Texas spokeswoman Sharon Parker said: "We apologize that Mr. Henderson was inconvenienced, but the safety of our guests is always our highest priority. We cannot knowingly allow individuals who are not approved by the park to interact with small children in this capacity. Mr. Henderson was handing out candy to our younger guests and was dressed up as Santa which is in violation of our No Costume policy. When asked to change he refused and at that point was asked to leave."

I have a three way fluorescent in my bedside nightstand lamp. The bulb looks like a big B. I got it before compact fluorescents were being sold.

I don't like those CFL's. They take a few seconds to "warm up".

My problem is that I can't find a step ladder that I won't break, and that won't cost an arm and a leg, I looked at ones in the 450lb and 500lb capacity range on amazon, over $90.00 to as high as about $721.00... Since I have 2 light fixtures that are out of My reach, I'm 6'1" tall, and I still can't touch them, since the kitchen has a vaulted ceiling. I've got a few LED bulbs now, which were on sale, the other 4 fixtures I think I can reach, as the ceiling is lower, like near 7' in height. And yes I have a step ladder, a broken one, it used to be My Maternal Grandmother's.

The CFL's that came with this place are 4" long, and is 14w, the 7w LED bulb that I wanted to use in My range hood is too big in length to fit within the cover, by maybe an inch. At least the cover is clean of any grease and is dry now. I did find an LED bulb for about $8 that should fit, and is meant for range hoods, it's not dimmable, but it's for a range hood, and I've never seen a hood with a dimmer switch.

I can find step ladders in the 375lb range for as low as $88 in name brands, I found a step ladder in a 500lb rating for about $196 that is made by DeWalt and is 6' tall...

I think I'll go lay down, since I didn't get much sleep last night, and I'm feeling a bit sleepy.

I don't think the pie would have survived if it descended fast enough on re-entry to cook it.................

Ladders 500lb capacity:

Green Bull:

4' ladder, $183.96, 5' ladder, $226.82, 6' ladder, $229.47.
All GB ladders include shipping.

DeWalt

6' ladder, $211.89 w/tax & FREE shipping.

The 5' and 6' GB don't seem worth it, vs the DeWalt.

My thinking on CFLs and now LEDs has been to install them when the previous bulbs burn out. My limited experience with LEDs so far has been that they don't last nearly as long as they are supposed to, sometimes not even as long as the incandescent they replaced.

The LED will last for decades. The electronics needed to make it function on mains AC, not quite so long.

The GE LED lamps I bought have a 5 year warranty, My experience with CFL's is they last, though on LED's is YMMV. I looked for GE LED lamps at the Home Depot online, and found the cost that I paid is easily half off, I hope Staters gets some more 7w lamps in before the sale goes away, since $3.59ea instead of about $7.99ea is much better...

I mean I'd rather replace the two 11w CFL's with 7w lamps, than 9w lamps...

The guy from the park was out here for just over an hour trying to light the pilot, the pilot tube is clear, so no blockage, I've got gas on the other side, the only thing left is the Coleman Furnace Gas Valve Assembly(from $100-164 for those in stock), which might need replacement, this will cost at least $75(a trip charge), for H&B Refrigeration to come out from Barstow CA, in the meantime the oven is on, though I think I can turn that off now as it's now 80F in here, yay! Of course I have no idea which, if any, of the ones at the repair clinic are compatible with My unit.

Maybe this belong in the Number Crunching forum instead?????

Samsung sent cable guy to fix recalled washing machine

Got car problems? You call a mechanic. Leaky roof? You get a roofer. So when a couple had a recalled washing machine, they expected a washing machine repairman.

But that's not who some people are getting for their Samsung washing machines -- which need a fix for tops that can fly violently off.
...
They were particularly baffled by who showed up to make the repairs.

"Dish Network!” Her husband Armando exclaimed. “Which we even questioned the guy when he came over: Why Dish Network?”

A spokesperson for Samsung told us that to try to respond faster, they "ramped up" their network of authorized service partners nationwide and Dish is one of those partners.
