Message 1830502 - Posted: 14 Nov 2016, 11:47:36 UTC - in response to Message 1829765.

My furnace... Otherwise nothing is wrong with it, though if the power goes out, I will need to have the pilot relit, since Mine does not auto ignite the pilot flame.

Can't you relight it yourself?

I've tried, the furnace sucks in air and anything lit, gets snuffed out, I even bought a long lighter, that won't reach. My furnace is obsolete, replacement cost would be near $2,000.00, I was so disgusted with people saying one thing, that "they'd repair it", and then try and sell Me a new one instead, that I told most to get lost, as I saw it as bait and switch, that's dishonest, I did relent and get an estimate for $1,812.11, which was/is discounted from $2,000.00... And I don't have that much right now, that written estimate is for a 3 ton unit, this mobile home is a 1987 Fleetwood Westfield, Fleetwood, the factory that built My unit, went bankrupt in 2009, so there is no source of help or parts there, and the Fleetwood of today has no legal obligation to be of any help to Me.

Just a couple of thoughts/questions...
Is your furnace an "air heater" or a "water heater" type?
The symptoms sound remarkably similar to those a friend suffered not too long ago with their hot air heating system. After a lot of time and many "repair" visits, replacing all sorts of bits the fault was tracked down to a pin-hole in the heat-exchanger that was blowing with great accuracy at the pilot flame, but only when the main flame was lit; the pilot light detector then turned the main flame off, and one couldn't easily re-light the pilot light.... The cost of a new heat-exchanger was more than the cost of a new furnace because, like yours, it was no longer in production. When the furnace was removed he took it to bits to see if he have repaired the heat-exchanger, only to find it was so thin on the flame side that it fell to bits. So it could be that those that have come to do a repair have inspected yours have found it to be in such a state as to render it beyond economic repair :-(

Air.

Actually no real tear the furnace apart type inspection was ever done, just a cursory look with a flashlight, one even noted the surface rust on the door, the rust is cause the swamp cooler is across from the furnace, the pilot has never gone out with the cooler on, though I'm told the pilot could go off with a loss of power, I dread when a rain storm approaches, as thunder/lightning usually comes along for the ride, as do power failures or brown outs.

While this gas air furnace does the job, the furnace will stay on for 6 mins(the time on used to be around 15-18 mins, the newer dual pane vinyl windows did cut that down, plus new weatherstripping on the exterior doors, plus caulking some leaks that were not meant to be leaky walls, the home is 30 years old, so some of the energy efficiency had dropped off since 1987, like floor insulation(standard on a newly built mobile home, mine is largely missing), then shut off until the temp gets down to where I have the temp set at(about 70F-72F), then repeat, until I turn the furnace off at the thermostat, off in this case being the center position, heat below, and cool above, but then this system used to have whole house A/C, I never had that hooked up, since I was always quoted $2,000 to hook up the coils outside to the pipes already under the home, now the old coils are gone, if I ever move this place, I'd like to put in a ground source heat pump, which would update the system nicely, I'd still have a gas range, a gas water heater and a gas clothes dryer, though after solar is installed(which I can't do here), gas would make no sense anymore to Me.

What happened this morning? I was about to sit down at My desk, when I heard a knock at the door, it was the Fire Department, claiming that someone called them from here at #35, problem is there is an A35 and B35 here, I live on the A side, and I didn't call the Fire Department with a gurney out too(My phone was on the charger all night and I hadn't touched the phone yet as of then), a heart attack I think was mentioned, so I told them "no I didn't call, told them this is A35, they most likely want B35 on the other side of the park", has this happened before? No, someone probably could only get 35 out, that or someone called in a prank on Me, if there is no one at B35 or nothing at B35 now, since that side of the park has a bit less population than the A side.

Forgive me and I know this photo may have a political meaning to people from both sides of the void but why is this womans picture being shown here.

Is she a person free to speak on SETI?

In my country when there is a description or representation of poor or needy people we often (near always.. and certainly by charities) see pictures of black people.

In the UK regardless of politics the majority average of poor are white british. (Immigrant of any colour or the black population are certainly amongst the poorest.)

A black woman frowning and showing a board complaining about 'immigrants' is an interesting image.

I would hazard a guess that most white or powerful americans believe that black americans are immigrants taking their jobs. (I use jobs as a euphomism.)

It is a brilliant picture but it is also auchestrated and fits in with a doubly hateful position.

Are all immigrants black (non-white)?

Do black people complain that black people are taking their jobs?

I come from the UK but have you tested your Trump for DNA genetic backgrounding to see if he, or you or any of us are immigrant or unwanted?

The photo is objectionable (using a black person to support a racist or ethnic issue.)

The photo also is a valid expression of the political sadness we have to suffer as everyday humans.

I don't know what to say.

It made me think.

Thank you (I think..) Carlos :)[/url]

No ultrasound today, this was rescheduled at a facility that can handle someone
who weighs more, the table in Barstow CA can only go up to 350 lbs. So I have to
drive to Apple Valley CA to get this done, on Dec 1st.

No, the First Lady is not an elected position, and has no power politically, and
is not a Queen, influence, maybe, unofficially She probably has something to do
with holiday decorations, like Xmas, maybe.

That's an extra 33-35 miles beyond Barstow CA, 18253 Corwin Rd(Apple Valley CA)
doesn't show up on Bing, Google says 43 miles from here to there or 41 mins.

are you aware that is the first lady?

First Lady: the wife of the President of the United States
(historical note: the first woman to be known as the First Lady was not actually the sitting President's wife, she was the niece (I think) of a bachelor President who served as hostess for formal social events during his term)

Yes and that the new first lady is an immigrant from Slovenia.

... whose husband's campaign had a major anti-immigrant emphasis.

I would also point out that the printing on the sign is not the original but has been digitally replaced for humorous effect.

If this discussion is going to go beyond that, it should probably move to Politics.

Queen!??? Not hardly. She's just married to the U.S. President. She just does what she wants to do without trying to get her husband in hot water or trouble.

Yes I saw the original sign, but this is posted only for the humor. Not a political statement. Neither first lady was elected after all.

I liked it; but it just goes to show that it doesn't matter how blatant or obvious you might consider something to be, someone will always interpret it in a way totally opposite to what was intended.
