Everytime I click on BOINC Statistics for the WORLD I get an error message:

Could not connect: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

This just started happening a couple of days ago.

Yes it would seem that the Boinc Synergy website is down

These sites have nothing to do with SETI@Home

Hopefully someone might post who knows what the problem is.

You also might try asking at the Boinc forums.

No need, as it's not a BOINC problem either. It is as you say, the BOINC Synergy server is down and until someone can reach the admin of that site, there's not much that can be done about it. I've tried to reach him, only silence on the line.

It's only half a year until the domain expires, perhaps that that's what they're going for.
