A huge clap of thunder just rattled the house.

Just wait until one goes off directly overhead, it'll rattle you good. I mean BAM!

I think it must have. The dining room chandelier glass globes rattled, and that almost never has happened.

Then it would be really LOUD, if that don't wake one up, then maybe nothing will. Those I like, the other ones tend to knock out the power here, though since the park is connected to two circuits now, from the north and now from the south, a total blackout is not as likely anymore.

Well thanks to My 2/3rds sofa, I had to get up, since My back hurts, it's now 27F, going down, where the bottom is I don't know.

I heated the house up nearly an hour back, while I waited I watched TV. At least Grace is sleeping, for the moment.

And thanks Dr Who Fan.

Sleeping like a log, and I feel like one, stiff.

I can't match -18F, but then the closest I can get is 27.9F, and that's without a fully working heater...

Thankfully I have a thermal blanket and two quilts, one quilt is on My bed, Grace uses the 2nd quilt.

When I was in Germany 4 of us had to guard a truck load of blank ammo for a week, it was -18ºF daytime and -22ºF at night. we froze our butts off. Temps like your getting is hard to take no matter when. If it wasn't for the wood burner we would have froze. Oh ya and the bottle of Scotch. LOL

outdoors was -11ºF (In my little pup tent ) - Yes, I froze my ass off ! : )

Well, the kitties are finally climbing out of the deep freeze here.
11f now, high of 15.
And the rest of the week actually goes a bit above normal, with some low 30's!

Much more tolerable.

Okay, you win, by a little bit. It was -14F just before sunrise this morning. All the way up to 8 now. They say it will get to 17.

I've supposedly got one more night of sub freezing temps, then mid to high 30F's, still no heat, why?

A Coleman-Furnace-Gas-Burner-Control-Valve-Gas-Valve-Assembly that I have seems to not be delivering gas to the pilot, so since November I've had the pilot relit twice, the 3rd attempt was for just over an hour, still no gas pilot...

30 years old, well I called the guys I paid $75 to back in November, I may have to put this on a card, and I also called the capsbc, I'm on a waiting list, most likely a FIFO list...

capsbc is the "Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County".

I'm tired, and I need a nap on the right side of the sofa recliner, the left side is broken and causes My back to hurt if I even sit there, it's now for Grace to use, in a year or two the sofa will need to be replaced with a loveseat/recliner, since that costs less and fits the room better, JC Penney's has one on sale for $750, it's a Signature Design by Ashley® Garek Double Reclining Loveseat with Console , it should be on sale again when I'm ready, right now heat first.

Oh and why cloth? I have a cat...

Well I have worked on many of them and here's what I find with them.

1. Flame on the pilot is too low and should be cleaned off.
2 The thermal couple is either bad or coated with crap and will shut down.
3 you might have a down draft blowing it out.

these 3 things can be fixed or replaced cheap.

4 gas valve shot and that is a little pricey but they either work or they don't,
sounds like that isn't the problem.

Ok, people have noted over the years that the furnace has a heavy draw making it difficult to light the pilot, today the guy went through 4 to 6 pieces of wood, used a lighter or two, the flame would get sucked out, had to remove the spring loaded door, since otherwise it needs 2 people to do.

Next time I talk to H&B Refrigeration, I'll mention what you said.

Thanks.
