Firefox - both radar and camera appear to be working - I'm not expecting to see any sunbathers on their way to skinny dip at -6C! I wouldn't think so either. LOL |

It has been raining for about 16 hours here and heavy at times, "keep coming" That's great, Grant. I hope this means your drought is coming to an end, and you get sufficient rainfall from here on... The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Our rain season runs up to about April then nothing until Oct. or Nov. So we have 3 more months to make up for. |

Not going to be a pleasant weekend. Snow already approaching, and they are still predicting up to a foot of it here. And then as the snow ends late on Saturday, the winds pick up to blow it all about and the temps go sub-zero. No going to be pretty. Meowbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Boy that's way to cold for me. Way too cold for me too. I have lived in Wisconsin for all of my almost 60 years on this planet. Times like this I wonder why.................LOL. Right now I have 8 crunchers going full bore, two 1500w space heaters on, and left the waterbed heater on all day so the kitties were comfortable. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Boy that's way to cold for me. Boy the power company is going to love you on the next billing. I'm lucky here I don't have to pay anything but gas and that's cheap. |

Current temp 54.3F, 10% chance of rain, the radar shows, yep, a spot, of rain, in Barstow. Why am I up? Don't ask, and I won't tell. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Boy that's way to cold for me. I am on 'time of use' rates, so if I shut the heaters off during the day and try to run them just at night when I am home and the rates drop, it should not be too bad. Like maybe $700.00 instead of $450.00................. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Boy that's way to cold for me. Ouch, here I'm having RAIN, for the desert, lots of RAIN, just so there is no Flash Flood. And to think I've mostly converted to LED lighting, a bunch of GE lamps at $3.59(7w 470 lumens *6) and at $3.99(9w 850 lumens *2), the 7w are bright(they're Soft White), yet almost have no temp, the lamps were on sale at the local Stater Bros Market(they'd been sitting there a while, wipe the top of each box, and I got black dust on My finger), sounded like a bargain @ $31.88 after 8% sales tax. They replaced 8 CFL lamps rated at 14w that I'd had since late 2006, the 9w'ers will be a bit tricky, since I may have to stand on a cooler to reach the ceiling in 2 spots(no working ladder at the moment), twice, once to take down the old lamps and dirty shades, install the 9w Daylight lamps, then again to install the cleaned up glass shades. I'm waiting on some replacement nuts for one of the shades($6.00 for 5, I'll have spare parts, wow...), as one nut is stripped, but then they're made of plastic. Plus for $5.98 there are two 4w LED lamps for the oven range hood coming in, and I still have not decided about the 2 external lights next to the doors... Maybe later. LED is the only way to go in my book, I love them. |

LED is the only way to go in my book, I love them. Oh yah. I've converted almost everything to Cree LED bulbs. The soft white versions are literally almost impossible to distinguish from an incandescent. Their 100w equivalent uses only 16.5w and yields 1650 lumens. I started buying them when they were over twenty bucks a pop. They are now $12.97 at Home Depot. And of course, there are lower wattage equivalents as well. I highly recommend them.
