I had almost forgotten until I watched the local news last night. Today most of the US moves ahead one hour. Kinda silly arse, in my opinion. But...... Ran around resetting half a dozen clocks or so this morning, a few more to go. Time waits for no man. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I love clocks, and have many to adjust twice a year. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Almost all of mine self adjust. I only have a few left that require any action on my part. |

One hour means an hour less sleep! I hate to go up in the morning when it's dark. Who came up with this silly idea? And why? |

...But those of us in Europe have another couple of weeks of "sanity" before it is our turn to loose an hour of much needed sleep..... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Since retiring I have never let daylight savings time cost me sleep. I get up when I am rested. |

I don't have to adjust any of them as I live in Arizona I forgot it's up to the individual states whether to follow DST. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I don't have to adjust any of them as I live in Arizona, but I like this time of the year as I work in Nevada. 78% in California want to emulate this aspect of Arizona, plus Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgina Islands, and America Samoa also do not do Daylight Savings Time... Yeah it's an online petition to Congress, yes I've signed it, please sign it. http://www.petition2congress.com/6284/end-daylight-savings-time/ The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I wouldn't mind getting rid of the spring and fall time changes if it were DST all year round. But the whole point is the extra hour of evening time in the spring and summer when it's enjoyable, so we aren't getting home from work and it's too close to darkness to do anything outdoors... I wouldn't call that a silly or bad idea. I also wouldn't want to give that up, just as some don't like like going to work or school in pre-dawn darkness. I consider it an excellent tradeoff, having an extra hour of daylight for half a year - like an entire week of enjoyable spring and summer evenings - added for the price of fiddling with a couple of clocks and watches for a couple of minutes twice a year, and I'd rather lose an hour of morning light wasted either asleep on weekends or commuting on weekdays. |
