You know I an interest in a MHP much like yours. It has a water delivery system with on site wells and treatment. That is not acceptable. A new pump is at most 24 hours away. Someone is not being straightforward. ![]() |

You know I an interest in a MHP much like yours. It has a water delivery system with on site wells and treatment. That is not acceptable. A new pump is at most 24 hours away. Someone is not being straightforward. Ideally yes, but if the servicing company has all its crews and trucks on other projects, you wait. With the drought wait is more likely than not. It does require a rig to pull a pump up the casing and drop a new one down. Frequently with large motors like that the unit is rebuilt and not replaced, which adds a couple days in an electric motor shop. Part of the reason you would have two pumps, so both aren't being serviced at the same time. It very much sounds like the MHP has not preformed any PM on the system and just waits for failure to spend money. That's when they need to be whacked hard by a state agency so some bean counter sees the real cost of not doing PM and sends the on site manager to water classes. Have a friend who is the person responsible for a small public drinking water system, with all the reports and water quality testing that is required by California. Also have a sizable well at work, but that is non-potable for irrigation. ![]() |

Sadly too many organisations forget about preventative maintenance on buried pumps - out of sight definitely equates to out of mind. Until the pump breaks :-( Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Sadly too many organisations forget about preventative maintenance on buried pumps - out of sight definitely equates to out of mind. Kids, there are folks in the world with far more worries about water than Vic. We, here in the US, take it as a granted. There are some to whom water is not so easily found. And technology is finding new ways every day to help them. But not fast enough for some. Vic and myself...........we should be most grateful for our water. And realize that 90.....maybe way over 90....percent of the world would be most grateful for the water that we waste just flushing out toilets every single day. There was a bit in an old Chevy Chase movie........it will come to me in a bit, but the source really does not matter. For us in water kind countries...it may not always be so. "If it's brown, flush it down. If it's yellow, let it mellow." It was intended as a gag line in the movie, but in reality.... I do it all the time. Intentionally. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |
