after the release of V8 of seti@home i got the download and the wu but the don't start working.
my other projects work just fine.

The task list for your computer shows pending WUs from S@H v8, and v7 (which you downloaded the first week of Dec). Your completed WUs include an AP and some S@H v7 GPU. You'll need to log in and modify your settings to include "Use CPU". Then from the BOINC Mgr, go to the Projects tab, click on SETI@home, then click the Update button.

Most of your work from LHC and Einstein has an earlier deadline than the work from Seti. All those LHC tasks have a deadline of the 28th of January, while all from Einstein have 2 and 3 February.

You have a couple of Seti tasks with a deadline of 3 February, but the rest is slated for in March. As longs as the other projects gets work in that has to be done way earlier, and they're allowed to do so according to their debt to the other projects, the Seti work will wait until at least all that work from LHC is no longer approaching its deadline. Not much you can do about that, that's how BOINC works.
