I think Jaundiced is suggesting that armed civil war is the only way to dispose of a corrupt or incompetent dictator. The second amendment was ratified on December 15, 1791. Between 1861 and 1865, there was some disagreement over who was to govern the eastern seaboard of continental North America. I hope he's not suggesting that the former was an appropriate precursor to the latter? |

I think Jaundiced is suggesting that armed civil war is the only way to dispose of a corrupt or incompetent dictator. Of COURSE I'm not suggesting what you state. And of course you conveniently left out the REASON for the Civil War was not a simple 'disagreement' over who was to 'govern', it was rather that the seceding States wished to continue the practice of slavery. I HOPE you are not suggesting the abolishment of slavery was not valid reason for conflict. And in turn that people starving in the streets and being brutally murdered is not a valid reason for reasonable people to take up arms in defense of their lives.
