Hi, I have a hexacore intel cpu (win7 64), with a quadro card. Boinc is installed and running, and even though there are plenty of work units ready to start (both cuda and cpu units) only 2 cpu tasks run at a time along with a cuda task (0.128 CPUs + 1 NVIDIA GPU). How do I get to run more simultaneous cpu tasks ( I have 6 cores / 12 threads available)? My boinc prefs are set to 0, 0 for cpu usage (0 being no limit). Thanks, |

My boinc prefs are set to 0, 0 for cpu usage (0 being no limit). Set values to 100, just to be sure there's no bug in the client (in some there is). Setting CPU Usage to zero should suspend activity, because with that setting you're throttling BOINC. |

Thanks! the boinc settings say '0 means no restriction' but that isn't true! setting it to 100 instantly spawned 12 tasks. I guess if I set it to 11/12 % Ill effectively be reserving a core for the cuda task? Not sure if that's necessary. |

You can reserve a CPU core for CUDA, always a good idea. The value option does not allow for it to do fractures though, so you'll have to add the correct percentage there, 92%. The value is an integer, so round up or down to the nearest full value. |
