Yes, I see the problem.

Nobel laureates are to academics as oscar winners are to actors--they both pat themselves on their backs for what they think is good. Problem is, neither one of them has held a real job on main street America and both think they know everything since they've read a lot of theory or played the part in a play.

There is definitely a problem there, though it's unclear to me that it's the one you identified.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

That's probably a poison pill for I predict another recession due to external forces exacerbated by Trumps proposed economic policies.

Hmmm. Trumps proposed economic policies...
http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2016/11/01/prominent-economists-including-eight-nobel-laureates-do-not-vote-for-donald-trump/
A group of 370 economists, including eight Nobel laureates in economics, have signed a letter warning against the election of Republican nominee Donald Trump, calling him a “dangerous, destructive choice” for the country.

Or...
Both Hillary and Trump would increase our Deficit.
Hillary to over 80 Trillion. Trump to over 100 Trillion.
http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2016/09/26/donald-trump-would-boost-debt-more-than-hillary-clinton-report-says/
Or... Your increase in The Deficit is less worse than ours.
Or... Your Criminal Candidate is less worse than our Criminal Candidate.
See the problem.

Avoiding wars is usually a good way to decrease deficits.

But today it's more difficult.
I don't think any US presidental candidate can change that now.

With B1 Bob Dornan's in the republicans and as long as Norquist pledges abound, it never will. The US is at the tipping point. If it ceased all spending the interest on the debt plus VA, medicare and social security would be more than the taxes it takes in. Don't forget the birth rate is going down and we are going to build a wall so there won't be more people to continue the ponzi scheme. SS and Medicare taxes must go up, Norquist be damned. Two new tax brackets starting at $2.5M and $10M are needed to begin to pay down the debt. Trump can't be part of the 47%! The 1% needs to pay the USA back for creating the conditions that allowed their success.

Oh and for the crazy, AARP may be a stronger voting block than the NRA, so no you aren't going to kill SS and medicare, and the population is getting older, that block is expanding.

putting Trump in there wouldn't be such a scary thought then, would it?
It's only scary to the slimy little creatures who live in the 'Swamp'. Watch them scurry from the light and then play 'Donkey Blanket'.

Show me the math. How many people made $2.5M and how many people made $10M last year? Does the sum of the tax revenue on those brackets even *equal* obama's *last* deficit?

You could try PEW - High-income Americans pay most income taxes, but enough to be ‘fair’?

Just as a note, there are reports that the Clintons were broke when Bill left office, so there worth has been built up since then. Hillary's tax returns are available.
Trumps tax returns are not. But on his claims he has been a 0.1%er since birth.

Who caused the mess (you describe) we are in?

Dubya probably.

If the democrats would stop trying to centralize all power and control into the hands of the executive branch, then putting Trump in there wouldn't be such a scary thought then, would it?

Do the Democrats want to centralise power. That I thought was the aim of the Socialists who are generally regarded as left of the Democrats, Bernie Sanders territory.

Then why are the money markets worried now that the polls are narrowing.

Are you prepared to pay $10 for a gallon of gas.

As usual your arguements are based on your own brand of disinformation and then suplimented with a further outrageous and unfounded claim.

You sound alot like the e-people hired by the democrats that spew their half truths and convoluted reasoning on blogs, twitter and message boards.

1. Money markets are "worried" because Trump is an unknown and the markets don't like unknowns. They like predictable, when it's a negative force like Hillary, that can be factored in and the markets continue on.

2. $10 Gas??? What the heck does that have to do with the conversation?
Just another sideways, disconnected phrase that a paid e-bot would say.

I see the British SCOTUK has decided to 'intervene' with the will of the people regarding Brexit......hmmm all is not well in that 'Democracy' either....

You asked about tax brackets, perhaps you should do the research yourself. It is far more skewed than you can imagine.

I know. I'm constantly amazed at how people like Guy are willing to do anything to remain in the bondage of slavery to their corporate masters, like Donald Trump.

I agree with Gary. The Government of the Ruling Few should take over the corporations and end this slavery. We want new masters NOW!

Reversing the Citizens United decision would be a first step. As far as your hyperbole concerning a 100% guarantee brings your judgment into question.

Funny thing about ridiculing by being silly... there is always someone that can't tell that you are not sincere but instead are facetious.
That. my friend, brings your judgment into question.

Here's the thing: This thread continues to be a shouting match between the Deaf and the Blind over what the other has Heard and Seen.
Most of you seem not to have an objective point of view.
Very few even attempt to use reason and logic.
Too bad. Discussion is not possible. Arguements become the replacement.

A call for reason and logic? Can't say the following is either, though it will be my final update on the politifact truthfulness measures for the 2 leading candidates (the previous one is here):
| | Drumpf | Clinton |
| | Count %age | Count %age |
|––––––––––––––––|–––––––––––––––––|–––––––––––––––––|
| True | 14 4.33 | 71 24.40 |
| Mostly True | 35 10.84 | 76 26.12 |
| Half True | 48 14.86 | 68 23.37 |
| Mostly False | 62 19.20 | 40 13.75 |
| False | 108 33.44 | 29 9.97 |
| Pants on Fire | 56 17.34 | 7 2.41 |
|================|=================|=================|
| Total | 323 | 291 |

True+Mostly True+Half True for Drumpf is 30%, for Clinton it's 74%, or when Drumpf speaks he's mostly false or worse over 2/3rds of the time, while Clinton is half true or better almost 3/4ths of the time.

Without a foundation in truth, logic and reason are pointless, ex falso quodlibet ("from falsehood, anything follows").

(Politifact has this for Drumpf, and this for Clinton).
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...
