We put out a call on Twitter and Facebook for questions for our scientists and engineers. We picked seven of the submissions and had our team give short answers. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx7CiYXTFBwjKF01pWr2IGMvgWazItXP3 Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/setiathome Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/BerkeleySETI |

Over the last week or so I haven't been able to download new tasks to complete. This seems to be sporadic and then I get a new batch to be getting on with. What is the problem? Are there too many of us doing the work and not enough units to go around? |

Me as well, I haven't been able to get any new work units for a while now (at least a few days but maybe longer) and my computer is sitting idle waiting for work units to work on!!!! |

This is the News forum. For any technical question please use the Number Crunching forum where you will almost certainly get an answer. In the Number Crunching forum look for the "Panic Mode on Server Problems" thread which should have the latest info and observations as to any problems. In this case there were changes being made to the database that meant longer than usual downtime. |

Hey guys/gals please refer to Panic on the Server thread http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77774 in regards to the server issues over the last few days. This is the wrong area to post questions about the server. I know the name is misleading. It refers to a series of question and answer videos they did with the staff. |

OK... I have a question. I haven't been active in a few years but came back after the Breakthrough donation. I am curious though given that you have the Allen Telescope Array, why the data from that project hasn't been included in SETI@home, why are we still only Arecibo? Also along those same lines, the ATA was never really finished as a result of lack of funding, though is up and running with what was installed, will any of the funding from Breakthrough go to finish it? Because it takes time and effort to get the hardware on site to do the collection for SETI@Home, the software modified, tested and distributed. And besides I don't think S@H know yet how much of the pot they have got. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

The ATA is managed by the SETI Institute, which has nothing to do with SETI@home. Tullio |

Question: When will we be able to view a published official budget for Seti@Home? |

The "help" button on the Seti display isn't very helpful! Forbidden You don't have permission to access /wiki/Simple_view on this server. Apache/2.2.15 (Scientific Linux) Server at boinc.berkeley.edu Port 80 |

That help button points to a page on the BOINC Wiki, hosted on the BOINC servers (it is not a SETI thing!). The BOINC servers crashed recently and were down for a couple days while they worked on bringing it back up. What you're seeing is a residual side-effect of things being restored from backup. Ageless usually reads these forums and can report it to the appropriate person. |

Already done so, yesterday. But because the whole file system on the original server crashed, and it got corrupted, it is possible parts are gone. I strictly hope it isn't all the Wiki's. |

And both Wiki's are back. With nothing lost, but instead even an update on Mediawiki on the User Wiki as well. |
