AP comes and goes, but MB is almost always available!! Well most of the time anyway. Maybe with MB v8 we will reprocesses everything? SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Maybe with MB v8 we will reprocesses everything? And get whoppy 60% credits respect to what we are getting now for MB WUs in return? :-) ;-) Happy crunching! Sleepy |

Maybe with MB v8 we will reprocesses everything? I don't know 60% seems rather optimistic. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

AP comes and goes, but MB is almost always available!! As long as the new science apps are doing additional valid work, I have no problem with recrunching work we have already taken a look at. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

AP comes and goes, but MB is almost always available!! It was said, maybe by Eric?, that they would not create "busy work". If any data was to be reprocessed it would only be for scientifically valid reasons. AP comes and goes, but MB is almost always available!! Not for long. MB splitter output has dropped by almost half, ready-to-send buffer is rapidly declining. A few more hours at this rate & there're won't be any work to download. Grant Darwin NT |

AP comes and goes, but MB is almost always available!! Splitter output drops every time 'end of tape' (or even 'end of channel') is reached and a new one is started - must be some housekeeping or pre-scanning done before it gets back up to speed. Anyway, it's back up to 37 now. |

Whatever the glitch, the ready-to-send buffer has only just started to re-fill after falling for around 2.5 hours. Even now, it's refilling very slowly. Grant Darwin NT |

The project split a few APs and I got 3, is this a sign of good things to come? I shall crunch on. |

Wonderful to hear that awesome work coming through. I did notice that the channels got processed quite fast in the special rate did not rise above 0 this morning New Zealand time. When work starts to flow again I would imagine it's going to take a while before we get ready to send the buffer built up. All good things come to those who wait. It looks like there has been a Shorty storm going through the MB tasks. I have noticed results returned and that the last hour have been over 100,000 for periods of time throughout the day |

A "mini split" of AP has been going on today (CET). I've managed to snag 6 of them, before the fun was over. Looks like I got 19. By the time I looked to see if I received any I had already returned nearly half of them. Crap. I didn't even notice there were any available. :( Oh well. Next time, I suppose. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

:( Well I goofed a few days ago, apparently. So I was thinking about how my stats file stretches back to 2008 on my single-core machine, and started January 2012 on the main cruncher, and.. I don't know why I decided to extend the value in the cc_config on the main cruncher from 3650 days (10 years) to adding another 0 at the end.... and I only just now noticed it after 3 days that BOINC doesn't keep stats for more than 24 hours now, and my previous stats are gone. I have a back-up...from about two months ago, but it's not at all worth trying to rebuild it, because either I'll end up with straight lines from where that left off to current, or I can try to piece it together using the stats from the single-core machine, but that is a LOT of work and still won't come out right. *sigh* Oh well, then. Lesson learned. I don't know what the max value for <save_stats_days> is... but 36500 is apparently too much. 3650 works, so for now, I'm going to try 5000 and see if that works. Let that be a lesson to all of you, in case any of you were wondering about that, or thinking of extending your stats out a bit longer. You can absolutely for sure do 10 years... but I don't know how much farther you can go on that. Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |
