Can some one please stop this user from doing any more units please http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=5754408 look at his tasks . I have sent him a P.M to tell him he has a problem and what i think may have caused it . He has 1500 units inconlusive , 141 errors and 1100+ pending But he only has a Core 2 Duo and his GPU is a GTX 560 . hes doing Cuda 42 and Cuda 50 so i think he's allowed windows to automatically update the GPU driver and it's gone wrong , so i have told him to reinstall the driver but this time do a clean install |

Have you gotten a response to your PM yet? The Tasks list for that box shows only 5 tasks in progress, all CPU MBv7, the newest dated 23 May 2015. He may have seen your PM, or noticed the problem himself, and set NNT or completely shut down that box. The servers seem to also be choking him off, reducing the # of Tasks Allowed based on the number of Error and Invalid tasks reported. The system seems to be working........ Donald L. JohnsonProject donor No i haven't recieved a reply but i'm not really expecting one unless he has trouble or did not under stand the the pm . I did explain it how to do it and what he should do like reset windows update to notify him but let him choose when to update and not to let windows automatically update the GPU drivers . So long as he has now fixed it . I only noticed it as he was my wing man and i had 14 units in the inconclusive and thought wtf !! |

Donald i just looked and he now has 30 units in progress and the servers seem to be sending him still cuda 32 and cuda 50 units . Some one might wish to keep a i eye on this account . Not shore if it's his end or Seti . He seems to be running stock apps . And have the latest Bionic and is running the 347.52 GPU driver so there all up to date !! EDIT: just looked again now 10 units in progress . Looks like hes not noticed . He is chewing through a hell of a lot of units 3300 in total still ! aprox 1 gig and have , no idea how much per hour but it must be a lot . |

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1797590374 Sometimes the system gets it wrong too : as you can see the _0 was a host with lots of invalids, I processed the _1 and the _2 was a host with invalids too so I got "bumped" while the 2 overflow host with all these invalids got it right according to the Seti system... |

Yes, the old AMD/ATi curse. It's either that 1 or the GTX 560 Ti curse. Cheers. |

Both AMD hosts using broken (difficult) drivers. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Not entirely related to this thread but didn't want to start a new thread for this question ... Recently had a 'disturbance' on one of my PC's (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7567092) and it errored out all WU's in the queue. Not sure why that occurred though the disturbance created an anomaly in the app_info.xml file. I replaced the file, reset the count parameters and restarted. On 'Update requested by user', I get 'Not requesting tasks; don't need CPU, Nvidia GPU'. That has been going on for now about 3 days ... no SETI WU's are being allocated to this PC. I have engaged Einstein on the PC just to prevent wasting compute power but would like to get SETI re-engaged. Any suggestions? |

Your Computer shows 268 tasks in progress, which you have a 300 limit, 100 for CPU, 200 for 2 GPUs. I'm thinking you may have to abort/delete those WorkUnits to get more. Or you still have a problem in app_info that is not letting those files run. |

Thanks for reply. Found no tasks in sETI folder and was going to "Reset" but backed off since I didn't know if the reset would apply to only that PC or to the others as well. Do you? SETI now responds that my cache is full so they think I have those 268 tasks which were apparently errored out around the 23rd. |

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1797590374 You can add this one to that list. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1798845492 Two overflows marked as valid and two normal results marked as invalid. That is not particularly good science. I sure hope it wasn't the one with ET calling us. A long shot for sure but then someone does hit the Powerball every now and then ;). |

A reset should only affect the computer you apply it on. Have you tried the obvious? Restart BOINC, and a reboot? |

Yes, did a restart after reloading the app_info.xml file. However, held off on reboot hoping minor adjustments would force SETI to be re-engaged. I'll give the reset a try first. |

Mis-stated. Did the reboot as well and held off on re-install. |

Re-installed both BOINC and Lunatics this AM and everything fine. Thanks again for the encouragement. |

Can some one please stop this user from doing any more units please He's back to trashing GPU Tasks, both cuda42 and cuda50. Over 1000, I spot-checked and everyone I looked at was a -9 results overflow. cuda50 finished in less than 10 seconds, cuda42 took 25-30 seconds. Glen, did this one ever answer your PM? If they don't get, or don't answer PMs, the only other way to contact them is by a Project Administrator (Eric, Matt, Jeff,....) sending them an email. I doubt that Glenn did, or indeed ever will. I had an (unpleasant) exchange with him some time ago. His GTX560 is monstrously overclocked, and "it works fine for games, so why not for S@H?" (only with a pile of four letter words). If ever there was a computer and user that deserved to be cut off at its roots then this combination would be my nomination. Whilst I can see his initial reaction might be that, surely if he looks at his recent results and out of the last 883 tasks only 11 are vaild, wouldn't that suggest a problem? He has a 560 and an RAC of 200! In reality why is he bothering to run SETI at all? |
