Today I received the Captain 360 EX cpu cooler by UPS, unfortunately My cable is being bad today, so if I upload pics or speed test and My net access crashes, I'm using a Motorola 6121 modem, great download, but upload currently is nearly non existent, but at least this works, My Arris 6183 is not able to sync, even for a minute, so that modem is offline, both use the same power brick, so I'm on the backup 6121 modem, which on the download did 122.43Mbps, but upload, and the line goes dead, then reboots, and shows what Bing says the upload is 133.65Kbps...

The EX is the revised Captain line of cpu liquid coolers, I have the thicker hoses, neat.

Spectrum is coming out here Tuesday afternoon, between 2pm and 3pm, not much I can do until then, I took 4 pics too, the unit is new, since It still has the stock TIM on the copper cold plate(this touches the top of the cpu), and the box is pristine. Not bad for $110.62 total($101.49+9.13(9.0% sales tax)).

Well My cable Internet access is down again, I found out it's a lack of signal strength, which has been declining all day, I'm lucky to have TV still, at least the phone works too. Sigh.

In my last "real Job" I worked with cable systems, ( actually became quite good with them) and if there were "signal problems" the first thing to go was the internet as it relies on "return path" to work.

The TV would keep going.

Of course that was with the earlier DOCSIS 1 and 2 no idea if the later versions are the same, my company moved on to ADSL to provide the same services.

TWC was out here today and did some repairs, i’ve been told the signal is too weak for my 6183 and for my 6121 modems, both are docsis 3.0 modems, someone is supposed to be here from TWC from 4-5pm on Wednesday,

Android keyboards suck and make my shoulders hurt.

Sigh.

Nuts, washers, screws etc usually work fine as there is nothing to go wrong with them, unless of course they are over-tightened.

Of course that was with the earlier DOCSIS 1 and 2 no idea if the later versions are the same, my company moved on to ADSL to provide the same services.

Vic says he uses DOCSIS 3. Perhaps a satellite dish would give him a better signal?

No satellite antenna is here, docsis 3.0 is what Twc installs, 2.0 is obsolete.

A 230mm fan, and 2 ac450 Wi-Fi adapters both are either on their way or have been delivered to my mailbox at the Post Office.

This browser has crashed and the keyboard has been a problem.

I still think I should buy on the 1st 3 120*38mm fans, and 12 43mm(1.75") screws.

I'm glad to hear that you can afford to buy all these bits and pieces whilst also saving up for new windows and a gas heater repair.

They're bits and as such don't cost much, compared to a window.

Getting a new vent cap is an unknown cost right now.

The 2 Wi-Fi adapters arrived, but my phone I learned does 2.4 and not 5.0GHz like the adapters do, sigh. The phone doesn't say which it supports, I had to call and find that out, so if I want to use the hotspots I need to get a 4G LTE phone from Assurance Wireless for $25.00 I was told. Well the wait goes on. Sigh.

Ok I'm back online, I'm using the Motorola 6121 modem. the 6183 modem still didn't seem to want to immediately lock on as it should, this is as slow as it goes in this area, turns out 300Mbps is not ready, too expensive still, since the area has a lot of work to do.

Juan swapped out an ethernet cable, and it seems the coax needed some work, as the ends of two cables had withdrawn a bit, so Juan is your guy if you live in the Barstow/Yermo/Daggett/Newberry Springs area, He's real good at what He does.

Ok here are the long awaited pics, I'm still waiting for 3 Delta 120x38mm fans and 43mm(1.75") phillips screws to be bought before I do any work.

Not a scratch on the box.

Shows what's inside.

Show's the contents are NEW, and intact, notice the Copper cold plate, the stock TIM is fresh from the Factory.

And a better, less flashy picture of the contents of the biggest AIO that I own, and that I will asap, stuff into the Corsair Carbide Air 540 case.

Once again I am all out of internet, yep about 5am and the internet vanished, I called Twc again, hopefully they can get Juan out here today, instead of on Friday. But you all know or might know how that goes.

Ok I'm back, and this time I think for good, I hope, Juan came out and He looked at everything, the only thing We didn't replace, was the Arris 6183's power supply brick, He replaced that warm psb and My internet is back. The Motorola 6121 is now back to being a spare modem.

I got a little more work done on the P55 FTW/Corsair 540 case.

I removed the two 140mm fans, after removing the top and front grills, which only needed 2 thumbscrews removed to do. And there is room to install a 360mm, a 280mm, or a 240mm radiator in the front, I'm going to use the three 91cfm 120mm fans that came w/the 360 EX, money is tight. Installing a 360mm radiator and 3 fans, the fans will go between the radiator, and the inside of the case, with air being pulled thru the radiator and out of the case, makes dusting easier.

If you find there isn't enough room for the radiator and fan inside the case with the MoBo too close, you can always move the fans to the outside of the case. I did that with a few of mine due to confined space. Even with the fans on the outside passing I am still able to reattach the grill over the fans. This only works for the front grill, the top grill doesn't have enough space under it for fans outside of the case.

I'm more worried about how the radiator will fit in relation to the cpu, which was My reason for wanting to get some 120x38mm fans, but I'll take My chances, the tubes look almost as long as the radiator is, or about 14.5". In most cases a cpu radiator in My experience is mounted up top, clearly that can't happen here, I'd need at least an Thermaltake X5 or X9 case to do that. Still I wish it was easier to mount the fans in between the rad and the case, but at least I'm not totally fighting gravity here.

I've got an update, I installed the Captain 360EX Radiator and 3 fans in the Corsair Carbide Air 540 case.

The fans went in alright, after the first fan went in the installation went a bit easier, I had to stack all 3 fans, one on top of the other, then put the radiator in behind them, but all 12 screws are in place.
Next is the cpu mounting bracket, I have to remove the old bracket, then the 360EX bracket, the old one is not 360EX compatible.
Once the 360EX cpu mounting bracket is in place, then I can just screw the bracket down on to the cpu, since the 360EX already has a TIM applied for the cpu.

TIM = Heatsink Thermal Compound

I'm hoping that I don't have to undo the 360 radiator, and put the radiator tubing down, 12 screws would have to be removed and reinstalled, not to mention 3 fans.
