I know its pants :( I would actually like to do some rather nasty things to 'trolls' at times but they are all illegal things so can't really express them here..

As to throwing a middle class person into a prison... Well I'm educated working class and have worked in much tougher environments than a prison... Living in one would be a different case though.

As I say I haven't had the privelidge of reading many of WW's posts but I do think on balance WW has made his spots clear (as a Lepard) so in reality no hand of friendship can be given... I mean You or I would not hold out the hand of friendship to a misguided, deluded or person beguiled by evil forces and that is probably how (from WW's own articles) see everyone supporting SETI.

The hard bit is what can we do about such a problem without loosing our own sense of what is right or wrong.

I guess the answer will eventually be a community effort one as it is often harder for any forum's admin or moderators to make such decisions without incurring someones anger for 'censurship.'

If you read me right I am not disagreeing that there is a big problem here... The method to solve is not for newbies like me though... However what I can add is some perspective on WW's motives as gained from his own articles on his website (that crashes Opera webbrowser every time.. dodgy coding?)... Perhaps even that has been said before :)

Besides the middle class put the boot in from the sidelines ;)

I have in the past put my 4 hapeth into these forums and allowed myself to get carried away when some idiots may have posted vitriolic comments in response to others.

I have not entered into this whole WW argument so far but watched from the sidelines.

I have to say that, although sorely tempted to offer him an open hand at the side of his face, I have been equally tempted to do so to some of the other posters replies to him.

We seem to have descended into hysteria and paranoia and in some cases downright childishness. I am not a woman who is easily frightened nor am I averse to swearing my head off when annoyed or threatened but I think the abject abuse in response to WWs comments have only made it harder for Berkeley to boot him off.

I think the time has come for people to totally ignore his comments, either on threads started by him or on those he intrudes onto.

So what if he thinks we are going to hellfire and damnation? Who cares? He can only destroy this forum if we let him and descending to the level we have been doing in our responses is self destructive.

This is Cafe SETI, not the science or cruncher's forum, so if these posts have nothng to do with "the essence of this project" as you say, so what?
