In fact, I just changed the bedroom machine to run APs in XP with an ATI card late yesterday. It first downloaded a load of CPU tasks for the Single CPU core being used, then started downloading the GPU tasks. It's now up to around 50 GPU tasks since last night, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6813106. My other two Windows machines are holding at around 160 APs. Now compare that to my Mac, which I was able to revive by going back to Anonymous platform, but is stuck again at around 20 GPU tasks. Since the APs came back over a week ago, I haven't been able to get it above 20 GPU tasks. It appears Dena's Mac is stuck at around the same number. That number can't be a coincidence, it is being artificiality imposed. Less I/O contention from the MB splitters allowing the AP ones to pick up the pace? AP splitting rate has surged- now up to 1.87/s. That's even with 3 splitters working on the one file.
