Hi Anniet, any updates on puddy tat? Everyone should check where you are before making suggestions that only apply to USA. I know there used to be free charity vets in Britain, but, that was 20 yrs ago and you needed a lot of time to wait for your turn. Even back then people couldn't afford vet bills. Out little buggers have cost almost $1000.00 between them in the last 3 months I'm not a complete idiot, but, I'm working on it. I have an opinion and I'm not afraid to use it |

@ CC and Vic :))))))))))))))) @ PJ :/ Expensive! Hope your rascals are doing okay though! :) I tend to be DEEPLY suspicious of vets fees ever since I got charged £160 for having: three buckets of water thrown over my dog over a seven hour period. He was taken in for "observation" because of a high temperature. Fees broke down as £30 per bucket of water, and ten pounds an hour for sitting in a cage. Maybe things have changed since I left Africa - but there - treatment was always about the animal and getting it better. What and how and whether you could pay was sorted out afterwards - and without resorting to lawyers either. Now to Bagheera :) He's so SWEET! :) I'm going to have to learn what all his different cries mean though. There's his "I want to sit in the chair now" ; "I'm about to fling myself off the chair for my seal dragging itself about the house impression" ; "I need the litter tray and a spot of help with my tail please" ; and "I want a big cuddle... now!" :)))) People can be such fantastic creatures you know! :) A neighbour has made an amazing device on wheels for Baggie's rear end :) Okay... Bagheera is a bit suspicious of it and tries to run away from it as it "follows him around" when he's popped into the harness... but with time and patience he might get used to it. Some heartening news is that he's been stretching the toes on both his back legs and circulation in them is looking okay now so vet is following a "wait and see" approach and just dishing out pain meds and anti-inflammatories. The blue cross is a good point Chris - I will check it out. PDSA (people's dispensary for sick animals) would be brilliant - but they'd have to be in receipt of rent benefits to get their help and as they own their own home - they don't qualify. Celia Hammond trust is another one that could help... I will look into that side of things. I DID tackle my brother-in-law on the crowd-funding idea from Uli. I'm a good tackler :) he is considering it now - instead of flatly refusing. A little more of my magic and we might get somewhere! :) Thanks for all your support everyone :) You're a lovely lot you really are! :) |

Thank Anniet for the update. The crowdfunding suggestion wasn't from me I believe, but the mobility aids. Maybe you could take a pic or two. Good to hear about the circulation issues, there is hope yet, that she might be able to walk unaided in the future. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Vic... your picture reminded me of this one... awwwwwwwww :) @Julie Siyah and Happy both even rejected their collar.... Yes... assuming you can get one on any of mine... they either try to run away from their own necks or rear up onto their backpaws in utter horror... then fall over :) Thanks Chris :) |

Grace won't wear one either, She has in the past chewed and clawed at one, so I gave up, one day I'll get Her chipped, but that's $150 last I heard in Barstow and since She doesn't get out, it's not a real priority, but it will get done. @ CC and Vic :))))))))))))))) I know I am off topic with this but about 18 months ago my neighbors dogs got a'hold of my Chihuahua. I had to wade in and rescue her. Oui. The vet bills after that. Ouch. I had to go between three veternarians. One was nights and weekends. The second was for day care. And the third was for when the second vet had to be gone for a day time event. Now you can look at Dakota Dodge and not know anything happened. The bill for all that was a bit over £2000 but I think it was worth it. |

Poor little kitty! Get that cat a rug! Or maybe a Belt? ;) Nice looking cat there Candorchasma, does this cat have 3 or 4 legs? As the pic looks like the cat has 3. Fitting name for a cat, cats can be mighty hunters, arrows not needed of course. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
