I don't know he appears to get upset when he is ignored or we go off topic. If all threads strictly stayed on topic they would quickly die. On DSL reports a thread can split into different threads if one replies to a specific poster and not the thread in general. It works quite well. |

I don't know he appears to get upset when he is ignored or we go off topic. I read the reason banns are not permanent is because many on this board have mental problems. That's why Allie form Vancouver still has an active account. It makes me concerned for your mental well being, Johnney. Indeed. You do benefit from the benevolent nature of the admin here. No one can prove scientifically that God exists, but I would never try to convince anyone that he/she doesn't. The existence of God is purely a matter of faith. On the other hand I wish that people would quit trying to convince me and everyone else that shares my belief that no proof can be found, that there is logical proof of his/her existence. Esme, Thank you for your honesty! I appreciate the feedback. Yes, I too am concerned for my own well being. I'm going quite mad from the sheer quantity of religious and scientific research I have done in the last 8 years. I'm going mad because everyone seems to be telling lies, but claiming to have the truth! Doesn't matter what you read, everybody says they have the truth. But when you go and check it, its turns out to be lies. Its a funny old world we live in. John. |

It makes me concerned for your mental well being, Johnney. Batter Up, The next time the guys in the white coats start chasing me through the park because i'm stark nakid and reading the Bible, I'm going to quote your words! I'm going to say to the guys in the white coats; "A guy called Batter up told me it was ok if I did it in the name of religion" John :) |

I didn't find God after all. I just made it all up to get a reaction out of you guys! I had yea fooled for a while there! John. |

I believe in the message delivered by Christ and that we should all live by his teachings, however I also believe he was a mortal man just like the rest of us. Batter Up, Yep - Noah did a bit of that (Genesis 9:20-25) whilst he was drunk in Eve's womb I think. Edit: THINK that's on topic... |

Noah's daughters made him drink wine until he passed out so they can have relations with him. G-d did not command it. Isaiah was running necked doing penitence as commanded by g-d. Not unlike the OP.Batter Up, |

... Not the words of Batter Up but the word of g-d... Reminds me of a song about some religious types searching for Mary: They climb the stone, reaching for heaven Fools carry words tangled like vines Very tangled words indeed and all meaning lost in a tunnel of secrets... Foolish indeed. Instead move onwards and upwards into Philosophy? Not unlike the OP.Batter Up, I thought that was Lot... edit: you're right about the commanding bit I think though... or rather the not commanding bit. another edit: @Martin - aint rational arguments great :) I might have one oneday :) Mind you - that Pythagorus - did get a bit dodgy towards the end didn't he... or was that in a dream... or in a womb perhaps...? |

I thought that was Lot...I stand corrected. Noah's son Ham saw his father necked and drunk. Because he saw his father's nakedness he was cursed. Genesis 9 Some used this verse to justify slavery as they considered Africans the sons of Ham. |

I thought that was Lot...I stand corrected. ... and there is absolutely no justifying that :( |

In the years when the Human Genome Project was in full swing, there was a story published in Analog about some geneticists trying to decode some "junk DNA". The punch line of the story was, that when they finally decoded the sequence, it turned out to be a copyright notice. :) Not saying I don't believe you John, but I reserve my judgement until I can see the sequence, the decoding tools and be able to get the same results as you when I process it.
