Downloads are fixed, here and at Seti Beta, and the Status page now shows tapes. But no tasks available, as expected. Server Status looks like work's still underway. Had to get 6 hours of Einstein work to keep gpu busy. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. ![]() |

...but no help on the stalled downloads. Hope, they didn't get toast in the database, cause then BOINC will try to download them until doomsday. :/ [edit] Just as i wrote above, the missing WU flew in... ;) Aloha, Uli |

I see that there is work for AP but no work has come this way all day. The run will be over without a lot of machines getting work. |

I see that there is work for AP but no work has come this way all day. I don't think that any AP's will be delivered while the AP database is disabled (again). Cheers. |

Disabled Database Yes I see that. I knew it was a weird day when I woke up to snow in Victoria BC. Rare event indeed |

Did anyone realy knows what happening? Still can´t DL any new work (MB or AP) in some hosts. I got a batch of MB just now, from one of the new tapes - all shorties, so nothing left over to add to the 'ready to send' buffer. They were sent out 7 seconds after they were split. But MB seems to be working - it'll just take time to satisfy everybody's demands. |

AP downloads are painfully slow here. Just taken 2 hours to download 6 WUs. Just like the bad old days I had to relearn all my old tricks such as suspending then reenabling network access just to get them to download at all. I have seen treacle flow faster. ![]() |

Looking at my host list most of my machines have filled their quota of 100 tasks over the past hour or so. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours ![]() |

Unable to get any work here. Either "Project has no tasks available" or "No tasks sent" are the only responses I've been getting for more work. EDIT- all out of GPU work. EDIT- should have posted sooner, one system just picked up a few GPU units, other still unable to get favourable response. Grant Darwin NT |

Watching ssp for a while, it appears that all AP channels are ending in error. If wu cannot be sent because of db off line, why split to error? Dave |

Time for a change of pace from DLs not working and such.. I noticed this one approximately two days ago. On the tasks pages, some kind of logic change happened in the way the tables are generated, and the tasks are no longer in sequential order by taskID. They are for the most part, if you have a slower machine and only get a few tasks at a time, then they are mostly in chronological order, but when you get more than one task in a request, there seems to be some other factor/variable/force that changes the order they are listed in that cluster. Maybe the task name, even when your current view is all just numbers and not names? Not at all a show stopper, just a cosmetic issue for those of us with OCD. :D Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

The query to the database was changed to order the results by sent time rather than ID. That will keep all tasks assigned for a single request together, but how MySQL should order them within a group sent at the same time is not specified. If it turns out to be a problem I expect Dr. Anderson would add an additional term to the query. Joe |

Good to know. I don't see it as an actual problem, I just noticed it and it caught me off-guard since I still do my spreadsheet of AP run times vs. blanking vs. credits granted. Continuing that tangent: 3951 APs completed with r557 averages: 39,511.755 seconds, 661.11143 credits, 14.1620% blanking medians: 42,715.660 seconds, 699.15000 credits, 2.3900% blanking maximums: 54,824.460 seconds, 1459.81 credits, 100% blanking (obviously a lot of those..see next) <10% blanked: 3055 100% blanked: 178 Linux laptop: record uptime: 1511d 20h 19m (ended due to the power brick giving-up) |

If it turns out to be a problem I expect Dr. Anderson would add an additional term to the query.Joe That change was made after a discussion that I started with one or two others with an interest in task results. The divergence between a list of results sorted by ID and a list sorted by date is much greater at other BOINC projects - Einstein was the example in question. It would be ideal (IMHO) if we could choose our own display order - name, ID, date, etc. - independently of the format of the display (name or ID). It's the sort of thing which BOINCstats makes look very easy. David indicated that he wouldn't have time to make more complicated changes himself, but would be happy to accept code contributions. Any PHP/MySQL coders out there who could make some queries and page controls? |
